ICE agents deployed chemicals irritants and left a Minneapolis crash scene after ramming a man’s car and questioning his citizenship.

The man and his wife, both U.S. citizens, said the whole incident started because ICE agents profiled him for being Hispanic.

It would take a two-word amendment to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 to subject ICE agents and other federal law enforcement officers to the same liability for constitutional violations that local and state officers currently face.

If Congress actually cared about what it's seeing, it could pass that overnight.

This project should be the standard for utility upgrade projects. When we tear up the street for sub-surface upgrades, we should rebuild the road with surface upgrades (bus and/or bike lanes).

One of the most telling ways of how we ended up here is Americans are fine with terror as long as they don't have to make eye contact with it.

I thought this was going someplace else, though I agree with it as well.

I think surges in doomerism are mostly caused by two things:

1) Change is scary; if we fight, things can and will be chaotic and it's hard to tell where we'll end up
2) Plants who want u to sit down & shut up
It's weird, but I suppose not surprising, that the number of "nothing works, give up," Eeyores has exploded on Bluesky — just as we're responding to an incident that has every hallmark of a tide turner.

That seems counterintuitive. Shouldn't people be energized? Well, that's why. Bear with me....

he won DISTRICT 7 by 400 votes and somehow he gets to set the agenda for public safety legislation for the city? horseshit.

Antisemitism is terrible. So weakening its currency with ridiculous arguments that criticizing Israeli crimes against humanity is antisemitic, and engaging in anti-democratic political sabotage behind that claim as AIPAC does, is dangerous and sick. It has to stop.

There should be public dialogue from Dem leaders about what the medium-long term political strategy against Trumpism is. They don't want impeachment (not enough votes) so what can a Dem congress do that's more effective? Is there a philosophy other than "Vote for us and hope something good happens?"

A Japanese friend once told me a thing she'll recall from her visit to USA is that we hate the unhoused so much that we have decided that it's worth making it infrastructurally impossible for women to find a place to use the restroom for free.

She couldn't process it. She was just disappointed dawg

"She made him do it" strikes again. He's not concerned the murder will anger us; he's insisting that saying it was murder and the officer a murderer will anger them and then our fault if they lash out. "She made him do it" is the burdening of Democrats and the left for right-wing/Republican acts.
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."
