Saw a post on an author FB group where someone talked about using AI to review their marketing techniques and help make decisions.

My personal view on that is: it's certainly a better use than generative stuff, but why would you trust something for decision-making that keeps making stuff up?

When I get supreme power over the world, I'm going to make it illegal for new notifications on your phone to slide the current notifications upwards.

That'll stop people selecting the wrong one just because it chose the nanosecond before you press the screen to move it to something else.

Former homeless shelter worker here. Shelters receive the majority of their donations, gifts & volunteers around Thanksgiving to Christmas. If you want to help as a family or work team, consider pledging to do something in the first few months of the year instead, when volunteering drops off.

Thanking followers each day as a show of appreciation. I have to say a huge thank you to @barryryerson.bsky.social for introducing Tagonist Knights Publishing to Bluesky before the massive departure from Twitter a year ago. I am not sure if I would have known about Bluesky without him, so thank you!

Just binge-watched Néro: The Assassin on Netflix, and damn it's good.

Highly recommend it.

Great characters, betrayals, excellent fight choreo, and some dark humour.

Stumbled across Néro: The Assassin on Netflix, and so far, it's really very good. Dark, funny, great characters, and so far, there's only 1 person in it (a side character) who could be considered a hero. Maybe 2 at a push.

The rest (and there's a few) are all shades of dirty.

When a hacker uses an illegal AI construct for revenge, just how far will he go?

Read the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #scifi short story described as:

"...bloody brilliant..."

"The plot was tight and immersive, and it absolutely stuck the ending."

"...vivid and enjoyable."

We had this photo of a well-known actor randomly in our Italian hotel.

My wife just now said: "It's that actor - Alpacca Cino!"

Have you started my *completed* trilogy yet?

A character focused plot, and a queer normative world but this trilogy (and bonus novella) isn't for the faint of heart!

Read it in KU or add the gorgeous paperbacks to your shelf!

OK, I feel like I've got to talk about this.

Last day in Rome, and we'd booked a train back to the airport, as well as wheelchair assistance. For some reason, the airport shuttle train gives you a single ticket for your party (there were 4 of us).

We were told to meet at Sala Blu's office... 1/5

A bunch of writer friends are noting that they have not used LLMs to write. Me either, absolutely not. I feel like we need to stop asking kids what they want to BE when they grow up and start asking them what they want to DO. Because: I am not here to BE A WRITER, I am here to WRITE.

When Italian train entrances are several feet up, how do #wheelchair users get on and off?

With this totally inconspicuous device, and two members of staff fromSala Blu.

(Wasn't sure about posting this, as I look, well, ridiculous, but thought people might find it interesting.)

I might add more later, but having returned from Rome, I've realised that it's a city of contradictions.

Ancient architecture with GPS-tracking audio guide.

Citizens fuelled on either coffee and cigarettes or more carbs than a marathon-runner could eat.

"Rules of the road" being an oxymoron. 1/3
