Colbert posted the interview online. I do wonder if CBS and the FCC are aware of the Streisand effect? The interview has been up for 8 hours and has just over half a million views.

Jesse could be frustrating, as a politician and a public figure, but for a very long time there was nobody with a similar platform saying the stuff he was saying, doing the stuff he was doing—stuff that needed saying, stuff that needed doing.

One of my most sobering memories of Jesse Jackson was going to my civil rights veteran uncle's funeral, looking to my right and seeing Jesse Jackson sitting next to me, damn near inconsolable and in tears.

Trans people are in greater danger than they have been in a long time because a bunch of wannabe fascists needed a new drum to beat in the pursuit of power and those in a position to fight against it chose not to. This is how the world burns.

This bullshit has to stop. Anyone in Hollywood feeling fear after watching that clip is a pure chowderhead. The only people impressed are the media pundits trying to please their billionaire masters.
It took only a 15-second clip of Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt duking it out on a crumbling rooftop — made by A.I. with a two-sentence prompt and the click of a button — to draw swift outrage, and sizable fear, from Hollywood.

"It’s nothing short of terrifying," one scriptwriter said.
Why an A.I. Video of Tom Cruise Battling Brad Pitt Spooked Hollywood
A 15-second clip created by an artificial intelligence tool owned by the Chinese technology company ByteDance appears more cinematic than anything so far.

online arguments aren’t about convincing the other party. they’re about establishing a psychosexual dominance over them that will burden them every time they see your posts from that point forward.
The secret to engaging in social media debate is knowing you will never win anyone over. The best you can hope for is to have people who already agree with tell you you're awesome. You might great a dopamine thrill from the righteousness of your anger! Fine benefits, all. But you will never win.

Seriously, bring on the glorious “dystopia!”
Kind’a weird that the primary emotion evoked in cyberpunk media is “jealousy of the living arrangements.”

V has a soundproof apartment, gym, gun shop, public relaxation areas, and plenty of food stalls and vending machines within “half-awake in a bath robe” range.

Legitimate points but god the whole fucking thing is so exhausting this far out.
from the perspective of someone who might want to be president, the best time to run for the white house is now, not later. so if AOC is thinking about it — if the white house is her ambition — then her best bet is to throw her hat in the ring
You Know What? Maybe the Time Is Right for an AOC Presidential Bid
She’s only 36, and there’s a good argument that she should run for Senate and bide her time. But she also could be a formidable White House candidate.

the entire premise of these videos is beautiful and wholesome and the execution is great but also I really just enjoy the fact that they enjoy every single thing they eat and can’t stop talking about how good it all tastes
these two young white guys on IG go to an NYC restaurant each week to try food from a different country. they posted a video bringing together the owners of their first 12 stops & it made me cry bc it was simple & beautiful. just people from all over the world hanging & being pals. how it should be.

At this point, gambling represents possibly the only faint hope of escaping the crushing weight of modern society. You cannot hustle or grind your way out of poverty, especially not now. And it just keeps getting worse. So, fuck it, why not put a week’s salary on the Jets? This is the dark promise.
I see no reason not to look at the online gambling and prediction market craze as a new opioids crisis.

It will wreak havoc on lower-income Americans and leave a trail of destruction and despair in its wake.

I don’t care how competently AI can mimic an art or writing style. Everything good and real about art is in the little nuances that come from a person’s unique experience of the world. At first glance, AI might look like it’s doing the trick, but it’s all so fucking hollow.
