Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

We need an emergency flu vaccine drive to protect the vulnerable and prevent a disaster in the NHS.

That means jabs offered in pubs, churches and community spaces, and taking on the anti-vax lies promoted by Reform and other conspiracy theorists head on.

I live in Wales and today received my Join Us letter from Reform UK, complete with SAE which I posted back to them, immediately, empty. If every other person in Wales did this, Reform would spend over £1.5 million on postage. Not sorry. Join me Cymru.

If you look at the ridiculous case studies they dredged up & the desperate attempts to hang Reeves for ‘lying’ about the rationale behind a policy she *did not introduce*, you might work out why right-wing media is straining *not* to talk about the finer detail of her (unremarkable) budget.

I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Two stories you may not have seen this week that would be a big deal in a normal country:

1) The ‘dossier’ detailing the BBC’s editing of the Trump speech literally edited Trump’s speech.

2) The NBER calculated that Brexit’s longer term damage to GDP was greater than originally forecast.

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

If this is what happens when Reform runs a council, just imagine Farage running the country.

Care homes closed and vulnerable people abandoned.

We cannot let Trump’s America become Farage’s Britain.

Whatever else comes out once the attack on the ECML train last night, this alone is a credit to the train crew, driver, and signalling team.

Huntingdon was the first possible stop. In a highly stressful situation and improvising a plan the train lost just 3 minutes vs line speed to get there.

Kemi Badenoch is absolutely right about this.

At the time she hacked Harriet Harman's emails it was an offence carrying a prison sentence of up to five years

Wow - those are quite phenomenal headlines given the details of the story.

Ahh look, he’s just a ‘nerdy’ guy. No harm done.

You need to scroll down to paragraph 13 of the Sky piece to find the full story!

@mrmarksteel.bsky.social was absolutely fantastic in Edinburgh this evening (although he should have used "aurez" instead of "avez" when translating 'you'll have had your tea' into French... 😉). Brilliant show and can heartily recommend!
