Every time I see someone attribute homelessness to mental illness, I contemplate how few sleepless nights it would take to reduce me to a shuddering, screaming ball of anxiety. And that's without the loss of all my stuff at random intervals and the threat of both state and individual violence.

We need to normalise, in media, on socials and in face to face conversations, saying 'This is a stupid conversation and I'm not going to continue it.'

Caves of Qud is the third highest rated game of the year, behind Shadow of the Erd Tree and Metaphor: ReFantazio

Two games received rare 95% scores, and another came in at 94% in what was a pretty fantastic year for new games.

NOPE, we are not going to make UHC restricting ABA "therapy" a scandal. Autistic adults who survived it as children describe it as torture. It should be illegal and I don't give a fuck if they're only doing it to save money, it's an unambiguous good to reduce the hours we torture autistic kids.
NEW: After reviewing leaked documents, we have found UnitedHealth is strategically limiting access to a treatment for thousands of children with autism across the country in order to cut costs.

Advocates say the company’s strategy may be illegal.

Sometimes I think, "Compared to geological time, living things exist for only little blinks," but other times I think, "actually, life is one continuous chemical chain that first formed billions of years ago and every mountain range that existed back then has long since crumbled away to dust."

Let's make this clear: My mom's test results for nearly two years indicated possible cancer, but neither she nor her doctors knew this because of a private agreement between her insurer and pathologists to occasionally lie about abnormal or ambiguous test results and falsely report them as normal.

The worst fact I know:

Americans think they're saving for retirement, but they're really saving to pay a large unexpected medical bill.🤷🏿‍♂️

You see older people with no money, and you think they just didn't plan for retirement? Wrong.

All that money in your 401k? You will not get to spend that.

Evidence has demonstrated this effect in numerous cities now.

I understand why it sounds weird to say, 'building a bunch of fancy new townhouses and skyscrapers will make housing more affordable!' but it simply appears to be true.
So proud of the great work happening in Minneapolis, which shows that boosting housing supply helps make homes more affordable.

I read an advert from a distant land,
That said—Two small and unused baby shoes
Are offered for sale. . . .
This is just to say
I have sold
the shoes
that were in
the closet

and which
you were probably
saving
for the baby
I heard there were some baby shoes,
The ad said they were never used,
But you don’t really care for footwear, do ya?
