Something I think that is under discussed is that even if Ds pick up a trifecta w/in the party you couldn’t get agreement on blanket restoration of budget items to say 2023 levels apart from the real likelihood of lack of prosecutions there is a high chance we don’t see meaningful restoration

Correct.

Every vaccine will require an annual RCT powered for rare outcomes for every demographic group.
I can't read this as anything other than a direct assault on the vaccine industry. Full stop. They are laying the groundwork to prevent all vaccine R&D. Not directly, but by requiring study designs for approval that are scientifically unnecessary and financially inviable.

A good example of my point is global governments deciding they can’t possibly maintain mail service when many of them were doing day and night post runs when men were on horseback. They want you to believe this is some new intractable problem that they can’t put a letter in the same bag as parcels

It’s not just rampant anti-intellectualism in politics it’s also that the only state functions both sides uniformly get behind are surveillance and imprisonment the other parts of state capacity are viewed as burdens to be resolved not actual requirements of running a country
