I've been doing too many technical/policy talks. I'm overwhelmed with freedom on this one ... this isn't efficient, but it IS fun.

I'm horrible at remembering names but I could always connect faces and contexts. Doing project with folks that I've only ever met on Zoom is like starting from scratch at every meeting.

I get that making multiple meals for yourself every day can become tiring. Doing it for others, who are probably not terribly thankful, compounds that.

Rare things happen. Sometimes I use an analogy or metaphor that other people actually understand. And Sometimes, people I don't like say things that are legitimately funny.

Breaking: Mike Johnson named to coach the Atlanta Falcons in the 2017 Superbowl
Mike Johnson on Trump calling for Rs to "nationalize" elections: "We had 3 Republicans who were ahead on election day in last cycle & every time a new tranche of ballots came in they just magically whittled away until their leads were lost. It looks on its face to be fraudulent. Can I prove it? No"

I found this wonderful quote by Alan Hinman looking back on some old correspondence with him:

"If an eradication program fails to strengthen infrastructure, it is a failure of planning and leadership, not inherently a failure of the program."
