This is why the Bove seat was vacant, and there’s a real throughline from the forces that defeated the previous Democratic nominee to where we are today.

Senator Gillibrand called on Al Franken to resign.
I think she should resign for falsely smearing Zohran Mamdani as a terrorist.

He has never invoked a ‘global jihad’. This is a nasty, Islamophobic racist smear from a sitting Dem senator.
I have low expectations for @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social, and even I was shocked by the naked Islamophobia that she was engaging in, including falsely accusing him of "global jihad".

I called her office and told them that this behavior is unacceptable from a sitting senator

I can't think of anyone currently running for office more dangerous than Andrew Cuomo. Not just for NYC but for the nation, because unfortunately NYC disproportionately affects the rest of the states. Bad politicians elsewhere don't have the same structural power. NYC: Do not vote for this man.

Immigrant women say they were held "like animals" in ICE detention, subjected to conditions so extreme they feared for their lives.

Told by guards to urinate on the floor. Held "like sardines in a jar," as many as 27 women in a small holding cell.

Immigrant women describe 'hell on earth' in ICE detention
No shower for days, cameras trained on the toilet, women crammed into cells 'like sardines,' among the allegations.

It is actually hard to deport even 1 million people, never mind 20. How will they aim for that? They’ll start with the easiest people—the ones who voluntarily gave their information to the government. In other words, legal immigrants following all the rules but not yet granted citizenship!

this is an act of unspeakable violence. it benefits no one, it doesn’t move a number on a balance sheet. it only guarantees that every one of these incarcerated transgender people will be tortured.

Control of the entire federal purse is being stolen in the middle of the night by a Nazi. There has never been anything like this.
this is theft on an unimaginable scale
3/ different pieces fit together. There also seems to be a significant amount of downloading government data onto private servers, etc, totally outside any cybersecurity regime. Additionally it’s unclear to the people inside whether the people doing these things actually work for the US govt…

Donald Trump has just released a national under 18 trans care ban executive order. I am working through specifically how it tries to do this, and will live tweet here section by section as I read through it.

It is not yet on the website, but has been released via press release.

this is what polling actually shows about republican positions. if you explain them correctly, you are generally assumed to be lying because it is insane.
The media has spent so long both-sidesing that if you describe the Republicans' stated goals and policies in strictly factual terms you sound like you're running a smear campaign.
they’re coming for contraception next. already happening in some states
