A friend of mine has early access to cutting edge corporate jargon, I heard the phrase "let's double-click on that" from him long before anywhere else. I asked him what's new these days and he says it's "the shark closest to your body" for the most urgent issue.

i think if you want to have those disgusting LED headlights on your car, you should have to do a test where they blast you point blank with your own headlights and then you have 15 seconds to successfully complete some sort of vision-based task, and if you can't do it they push your car off a cliff

Watched the new Running Man. First 2/3s tense, compelling, pretty funny. Got lost when it went to Stephen King country - landscapes became boring, plot and pacing went haywire, tried to wrap things up too quickly in a way it didn’t earn. Still, I was grinning for the first couple of acts

Dunno why, but Mexican Spanish reverses lemon and lime, unlike other Spanish dialects. V annoying and confusing and results in lots of clarifying what colour fruit is under discussion to avoid culinary disasters
Learning that the turtle/tortoise distinction is all fucked up in Brazilian Portuguese because there's one indigenous loanword that came to mean "non-saltwater turtle/tortoise" while the Portuguese term refers to anything nautical
