The ACA cuts happened in the reconciliation bill in July, every single Democrat voted against it and they got 3 detectors so Vance had to break the tie, and the Dems just shut down the government for 40 days to try and get them to undo it, it is absolutely deranged to blame this on “Democrats”
Yes - this is a loss because Democrats have now signed on to ACA cuts as a complicit party and once again made it a less effective issue for the mid terms
From that perspective, this would be a failure, right? Because the Dems lose the narrative that they did everything to stand in the way of ACA cuts.

It’s straight-up nutty to accuse all 47 Senate Democrats-and-allies of conspiring to have eight cave. Yeah, sure, Ron Wyden conspired with Chris Coons and Tammy Duckworth to make baby appropriations and then one of the babies looked at you!
It’s wild to suggest this is a circular firing squad or something when it’s millions of citizen Democrats who hate it versus 47 elected Democrats who conspired to surrender for nothing.
We’re not fighting “each other,” we’re fighting you. There’s only a few dozen of you, but you hold all the power.

But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

What do you actually do, Mike? At least the Senate Republicans pretend to keep up with the news
VAN SUSTEREN: Is the Republican healthcare solution going to go into effect at midnight on Dec. 31? Because people are gonna get sticker shock
MIKE JOHNSON: We have November and December to work on it

Get in loser we’re back-solving ourselves into the actual plot of Dune
The most realistic scenario is the personage that claimed to be Leia Organa’s son had no actual biological connection to Leia, and was instead an acolyte of hers who later fell to the Dark Side

My honest take is that Ds played a bad hand poorly and the TL is split between people pretending a Pikachu, an expired debt card, and a five dollar coupon for Taco Bell was aces over kings and people pretending shitting on the table and yelling YAHTZEE is 69 dimensional chess.

The “Syncretic Vader“ hypothesis explains why various documents purporting to depict the ”individual” inside the armor vary so widely in physical characteristics
“Darth Vader” was an amalgamation of various Imperial Era generals and cyborgs that were combined in histories written centuries after the fact

This is literally the consensus belief on this website. And because everyone knows it’s the consensus belief, big tastemaker accounts completely refuse to challenge it, because their game is to say things that they know the majority of their audience will agree with. So the falsehood spreads.
defining the economy is capitalist propaganda, as is measuring it with graphs. also, the economy is bad and used to be better and everyone knows it.

Today we're unveiling our eighth locomotive in Metro-North’s Heritage Series—a moving tribute to our nation’s veterans.
Created and designed by Metro-North veterans, this locomotive embodies gratitude to those who have worn the uniform, both within the Metro-North family and across the country.

There are two reasons people do this:
1. Hating Dems is "cool" and "hip" and the way to show that you're totally savvy and part of the in-group; and
2. It's just kind of assumed that the torches and pitchforks are already out for Republicans, so why actually bother to take them out?
Both are dumb

Exactly this. People are too quick to get out the torches and pitchforks for Dems and not quick enough for Republicans l.
I’ll reserve judgment after I see how things shake out. After all, y’all were ready to burn Ketanji Brown Jackson at the stake just a couple of days ago.

No one can tell if you’re actually a constituent, by the way.
In case you wanted to, say, call the office of a House Freedom Caucus member and tell them not to vote for the Senate bill

I’m genuinely curious how long it will take Mike Johnson to get everyone back together to vote this into law, and whether he has the votes to do it.

I don’t think anyone in late September would have believed you if you told them we would not only shut down, but shut down for 42 days
The Senate Dem splitters are cowards who gave in way too easily somewhat too soon and also we weren’t doing this forever. Seriously, guys. It was never on the table to do this forever absent Republicans refusing to vote for their own bill, which I suppose they still might over in the House.
This was 110% a glonzo issue for 90% of the bsky poasting population, who was apparently too stupid to do basic math or understand how the US Congress works

I’ll be interested to see how the first generic-ballot poll looks post-reopening.
Long-term, the only meaningful battleground is how big Democrats are going to win next November

I think you can look at the election results last week as meaning "people really hate this, actually" and decide on that basis you don't need to do further accelerationism

1) Restoring SNAP and air travel during the holidays is a good thing. 2) This will force Johnson to seat Grijalva and the Epstein discharge petition will be passed. 3) The Republicans will renege and there will be another shutdown on the 30th, which they will be blamed for even more.

So a minor issue with the calls to primary Schumer or whoever is that there’s literally nothing Democrats ever do that isn’t met with calls to primary them
