Read the whole thread — this is the kind of energy we need.
With SNAP benefits going to shit because of rich assholes and corruption running rampant through politics I'd like to point your attention to a Clinton.

No, not one of those Clintons. This Clinton. Clifford Clinton.

People are more comfortable to be creative (and that includes posting!) when the world is a lot less stressful than it currently is now. People create more when they are stable, happy and secure.

"People aren't posting as much" Yeah, well, the world is a nightmare right now & a lot of people don't feel qualified to post about specific topics -and/or- feel awkward posting happy things when everyone else is struggling -and/or- are in a creative rut due to how everything is terrible and bad

OK I have muted so many words that my feed now looks like something I can handle seeing more often. So maybe you will see me here more. Maybe, no promises

Even as shadows of global conflicts and social divisions darken our world, we must nurture our inner light—for in finding our own joy, we discover the strength to be beacons of healing, harbingers of hope, and vessels of positive change.

I've seen a few people mention (one to me) others before and now today that libraries are advocating free stuff/not sales for the author.
Libraries don't acquire books by magic. They buy copies with money. It can be hundreds/thousands of sales. People pay taxes to use the library. Nothing is free.

I've seen an old misunderstanding going around; that libraries don't benefit authors. But they do! A lot! Here's how:

I’ve seen alt text that is completely stuffed with hashtags and has no description. That’s even worse that having no alt text and you should stop if you are doing that.
More people are realizing folks won't share without alt text so they're putting pretty useless stuff in alt text for shares. Please click and check

Gonna drop this offer again: the flu looks brutal this year. Vaccines can help so much, but I know they can be hard. CVS will let you book an appointment online, and the will often come out to your car to give you the shot if necessary.

If you need help finding one or paying, TELL US!

Genuinely helpful self-care advice. Thank you! 🫶
Here is a not-complete list of things you can do this weekend instead of being on the internet:

1. Read a chapter in a book you bought four years ago
2. Pick up the garbage in your house. Put the garbage outside.
3. Pick up all of the dishes in your house and put them in the dishwasher.

Everything is doomscrolling right now. I get it. Have you had something to eat today? Taken your meds? Checked in with a friend?

It's important to still take care of yourself and give yourself grace. One thing at a time.

Love this series ❤️
Did you know I write books? Some people even think they're pretty good! Like the Eric Carter series about a violent, sweary necromancer with anger management issues! www.penguinrandomhouse.com/series/EC2/e...

Don't beat yourself up about how long you've been away from your writing practice.

The important thing is to go back.

Tonight, why not read the last pages you wrote?

artists do better with stability, security, serenity, some enrichment in our enclosure and not being hunted for sport
"Things might be tough but it's great for artists! They'll create more!" You might not believe me but going through a lifetime's worth of stress Every Single Week for years and years- is actually not the optimal set of circumstances that inspires artists to create
