The power of these Black women inspired me to write an essay after Tr*mp's inauguration in 2017. I've reposted a slightly revised version I hope will bring you hope today.

I may not know a great deal about Nigerian politics, but I do know that this administration did not launch a Christmas Day strike to "protect" anyone with black or brown skin.

Come on.

Nigeria has oil. Venezuela has oil. Full stop.

Read The Reformatory immediately! It's got more history than most history textbooks and takes the reader on an incredible journey. Breathtaking and so alive and terrifying. @tananarivedue.bsky.social as usual, did that thinggggg
The Reformatory is one of the all-time great horror novels IMO. Truly brilliant. I recommended that podcast archive bc google is a mess & finding people doing the work on local histories is getting stupidly difficult, def didn’t mean to erase or undervalue any other resources in the process!

Linda Holmes sums up so much of what we loved about Reiner and his films, an enormous part of which is the enormous amount of love in them.
For me it was When Harry Met Sally… which I saw too young and which defined “adult relationships” for me for good and for… misguided.
It’s perfect.
