I'm literally fighting a queer-owned "local small business" for union-busting right now.
If you're going to put money towards biz, make sure it's a co-op or those with a track record of actually doing something good when the chips are down (like offering free food and supplies after a disaster).

When a writer is rightfully outed as being abusive/hateful, I hate to see takes like "I knew there was a reason I didn't like their work". It only adds to the fallacy that equates quality of work with quality of character which is a HUGE part of how abuser artists are justified in the first place!

Don't say that you're speaking to Democrat voters if the husband answers the door. If the wife is not home or if he refuses to go get her, the visit is done. If he monitors the conversation, be as neutral and non-partisan as possible - do not mention that she is on your list of likely Dem voters.
Any advice you have around that you wanna share?

Since early 2020, rents in my city have gone up *40 to 80 percent.* People who were kind of doing ok before are struggling with poverty or a lot closer to it now.

There are approximately zero instances where philanthropic dollars are best directed to a new organization run by You, The Person Fresh To The Problem instead of to a very exhausted person who's been doing the work on a shoestring with no resources for decades and knows the problem space
If you are a rich person who wants to do good with your money, consider giving it to people who are already working on the things you care about instead of assuming your big brain is necessary to the solution and "founding" something. Jesus.
