For a labour movement that recognizes that sex work is work
For a labour movement that cares about disabled people, including those who cannot work.

For a labour movement that is against transphobia and actually protects trans people in it.

For a labour movement that opposes the cops and police violence and supports prison abolition.
For a labour movement that understands the power of a strike..

For a labour movement that stands with, not against, Indigenous blockades

For a labour movement that stops the flow of weapons & the whole world for Palestine

For a labour movement with migrant workers, and against policing & borders

so sick of the way theverge reports on tech and manufactures consent for AI.

Their homepage:
-> is AI dangerous?
-> I tried AI so you don't have to
-> Reporting live from Big AI Event

Some call this unbiased journalism I think this is spineless reporting.

I know a lot of people are boycotting Amazon, which is great, but it's hurting a lot of trans authors.

Trans authors: Drop links to your NON-AMAZON book listings/storefronts.

Cis people: Repost, boost, and, importantly, buy. Part of boycotting an evil corporation is supporting the alternatives.

the scary part is how many people will happily use it.

bullshit jobs and exhaustion that capitalism brings to regular people made the AI incorporation virtually a non question for many.
Gonna be real with you, this feels like an advertisement for spiritual death

If the 2010s was the story was story of American tech eating the world, the 2020s has been a story about Chinese tech biting back, with cheaper, more popular products. AI was supposed to fix this, but America just lost there, as well.

If you told me in 2024 that Medium will be one of the few last writing platforms where content moderation was still a thing (or at least it was written in their terms and services) I would laugh oh so hard.

And yet, here we are!

The only fandom that is immensely proud that they don't read the original material is jujutsu kaisen.

Really haven't seen people be so openly happy that they don't care about what's written in the manga.

Coincidentally many don't like the ending of jjk.

Which could mean nothing.

Losing your mind over being blocked could be an entire sociology textbook. It took less than ten years to rewire certain human brains into believing they were entitled to full and constant access to every other person on the planet. A species that, a hundred years ago, would know a hundred people.

I gently explained in a local subreddit why using "unalive" outside the context of apps that actively censor/are belived to censor advertiser-unfriendly language is playing into the hands of advertisers santiziing the internet.

FAR too many people agreed with me in a "yeah fuck slang" kind of way.

Meta's refusal to recognize that algorithmically driven content feeds are something people don't want will be their downfall and frankly I'm here for it.

You can be a YouTube/TikTok style page delivering "CoNtEnT" or you can be a social media site where people connect, but you can't be both.
