This year YouTube debuted Recap, a Spotify Wrapped-style retrospective of what you watched on YouTube.
Technically this is an op-ed about how Wrapped is janky on a jack-of-all-trades platform. However, it's also a reflection on what media "matters" vs "consumed."

Netflix truly missed the point by making their Originals second screen friendly. That's YouTube's job.

Enshittification for specific niche things is harder to demonstrate to the wider world but I think Easy Anti Cheat, the anti-cheat used by SO many huge online games, going down multiple times before, during, and after Christmas is a great example of "things that used to just work are getting worse."

We need a remake of Timeline (2003).
It was SO close to being an incredible movie, it just needs a little tweaking and a couple roles recast. Hell, all of the character actors could just play the exact same roles again no problem. All of the "old" characters were aged-up 40/50-somethings.
