“The neoliberals never really sought to shrink the state or free the market.

They sought to shift the balance of power in society away from workers and toward capital — particularly finance capital.”

For a Democratic Society, Democratize Finance
The immense power financial institutions wield over most aspects of our lives makes a mockery of democracy. To build a truly democratic society, we need to democratize finance.

Unless overcome, blue state NIMBYism is going to grow Republicans' electoral college advantage and price millions of people from targeted populations out of the opportunity to find sanctuary under anti-MAGA legal regimes.
The complete failure of blue states to build housing is what's driving this

Simply allow for any type of housing to be built pretty much anywhere, and cut all the wait times

Just let housing get built en masse!

A major concern about Trump’s nonsense about the ethnic cleansing, occupation, and annexation of Gaza wasn’t that the U.S. would actually attempt to implement the deranged proposal, but that the rhetoric would embolden others.

similarly to "leadership" i wish we had linguistic innovation around this concept space to make clear what people precisely mean
All kinds of specialized functions can be carried out by standing admin bodies representing federated direct democracies, that don't require exercising legislative police power over a given territory.
The liberal "sounds like a govt" response to all discussions of large-scale organization is BS.
"Any committee that could organize large scale healthcare would be the de facto government!"

Ok, does it have a monopoly on force? Is it a vehicle of class dominance? Does it control territory or enforce hierarchy?"

If not, fine, you got me. I lose, let's have the health committee state forever.

The impunity is astounding, like a Caligula story. "We're gunning for people's jobs, your university health care systems, and veterans' health care. Oh also we stole your Social Security number and might delete it or give it to Russia, and we made Lady Jim Bakker Pontifex Maximus or something."
