Good sign for American democracy that the Dems are sweeping a bunch of high profile races today - in that, it'd be a very very bad sign if they weren't, and that's bad news we didn't get.

It cannot be stressed enough how much the people who run this country think cis white guys who respect women, keep their word, and follow the rules are dishonest traitors who sell out their brothers to lie for pussy.

if i were a pro-trump financial type i might view the destruction of reliable government data with the kind of anger and apprehension that might lead me to reevaluate my politics, but then if i’m a financial guy throwing my weight behind strongman rule, i’m already too stupid to breathe

Had a dream where I was accused of academic fraud, went to court, they said my stuff didn’t replicate, I said “that’s because you can’t do what I can do” and then I went to jail

Markets no longer think Donald Trump is full of bluster and are moving quickly to anticipate a slowdown in US and global growth as he raises a wall of tariffs around the world's biggest economy and trading partners start to respond in kind reut.rs/4bsB3Xa
Very eloquently written piece about civic virtue and what community means in a State. Might sound cheesy but it made me tear up a bit. Read it, share it, live it. Also, we always appreciate a good Anderson call out. Thank you for this @gravitysra1nbow.bsky.social

We literally have a political culture that worked its way backward into seeking evil for the sake of evil. It opposes good things *because* they're good. The culture at one time was simply *greedy*, and it did evil because evil was profitable, but occasionally good had some profit so it did that too

It’s times like this I wish America had our own version of the Panthéon. David Lynch meant more to me than almost any other artist of our time. I hope he sees paradise, whatever that means for him. I suspect it will be “a place both wonderful and strange.”

So they bled for the ideal America. The one that opens its arms to the tired and poor and hungry and weak and transforms them into physicists and engineers and autoworkers and machinists. The one that truly believes in Liberty and Justice for *all*, and which grapples with its failings.
