If building rail was as easy as constructability, Link Light Rail would have a line run all the way up to Carkeek Park from the DSTT downtown
No actually I don’t think elevated rail in modular concrete sections will actually ever be built alongside the interstate highway system because the sheer amount of NIMBY hate would drag that project out into the 32nd century

remember when Hertz bought a huge Tesla fleet? The loss on that turned out to be $2.9 billion.
No reason to believe it won't work out exactly the same for Tesla.

Tesla's latest gambit: become a rental car company. As cars pile up in showrooms and storage lots, Elon is trying to rent his way out of a crisis. Good luck, bud. #teslatakedown #MuskMustFall electrek.co/2025/11/10/t...
Tesla can’t sell its cars anymore so it is renting them now
Tesla is launching a new car rental program out of its stores in the US, as sales are crashing due...

this is another reason this reads like strategic victory to me, yes the Republicans are managing to do bad things but this hurts them more in long term ways

okay this is kinda, not bad actually?
The RIFs language is actually great. Not only does it rehire the people RIFed during the shutdown, it makes it an unequivocal Antideficiency Act violation to do ANY MORE RIFs through the duration of the CR (Jan 30)
Completely stops Trump/Vought Phase 2 for now
Would love to see this standardized

the hard thing is if you let a shutdown go long enough you don't have any air traffic controllers left when you open back up
if your position is that you want to have a government and the functions of civilization you're gonna have to open up eventually

there's a German board game called Waldschattenspiel that we always start playing around this time of year. You place wooden trees around a board, then one player lights a candle and places it somewhere. They close their eyes and the other player places eight gnomes behind the trees, in the shadows
