BBC's Arabic radio service in Lebanon closed after 85 years as part of a £28.5m savings drive. 'Just months later, in October 2023, the Russian state-owned Sputnik news agency took over the frequency. Its news bulletin opened with “This is Moscow”, replacing the previous “This is London” intro.' 🙄

Throwback to how, at USAID on the Gaza humanitarian response team, we had to refer to the various Gov ministries of Gaza as the "de facto authorities" despite them being very much the legal de jure authorities while the de facto authority was Israel/COGAT/whichever IDF brigade ruled that area.

Get him for perjury after the midterms
The acting director of ICE told Congress, under oath, that local law enforcement in Colorado leaked raid plans, allowing gang members to escape.

After 9NEWS questioned ICE's claim and its timeline, ICE deleted the claim from its social media platforms.

if this has to be a news story it should be that a qualified and competent doctor has been run out of a struggling NHS simply because she is transgender
The BBC reporting on Beth Upton’s current employment situation is definitely not in the public interest, and it is insane how much the British press freely get away with harassing her for the crime of simply living her life existing as a trans person in the UK.

I mean, this is just a bald lie. The judgement clearly contradicts this, as she must surely know. The decision to designate the group was found to have contradicted the Home Office’s own policy.
Yvette Cooper is asked why she banned Palestine Action

"I followed the clear advice.. which was very clear about the recommendation for proscription of this group.. you have to take really seriously advice you are given.."

This is clearly the line she's going with.

Every single person involved in this hate campaign and everyone who has supported them - Anas Sarwar, for example - needs to be run out of public life the way they've run Dr Upton out the NHS. Being trans isn't a risk factor for people around you; this obsessive hate absolutely is.
Susan Smith of For Women Scotland is quoted in this piece saying that Dr Upton leaving the NHS will be "a relief to female patients."

The employment tribunal found that Upton had done nothing wrong! She was completely innocent of any kind of harassment!

The key thing about this story isn’t actually what the PR firm did - awful as it is - it’s that the journalists they smeared *were investigating the undeclared funding that brought Starmer to power*

That’s why Josh Simons commissioned them

To stop reporting on Labour Together breaking election law
Sunday Times splashing today with story about Labour Together paying for a smear campaign against journalists investigating its undeclared funding

Democracy for Sale broke story 10 days ago and we’ve been reporting on it ever since😊

Now we need proper accountability!

Seems kinda bad?

Dr. Oz emailed an invite to a Valentine's Day party in 2016 to Jeffrey Epstein.

Oz appears several more times in the Epstein files, including an email sent from an account under his name to Epstein on Jan. 1, 2016, that has the subject line "Dr oz." The body of the message is completely redacted.
Senior US health official Oz invited Epstein to Valentine's Day party, documents show
Mehmet Oz sent the invite almost a decade after Epstein's first sex crime charges became public.
