I dislike bio’s, really.

I’m a late 40 year old female with a 24-year-old daughter. We have two dogs, two cats, one guinea pig.

I live in the UK. The England part. I enjoy commenting on U.K. and U.S politics.

Doesn't free speech include the right for students to protest speakers? @adamserwer.bsky.social is right, they don't want the right to free speech, they want the right to monolog without any criticism.
Total gaslighting. Anti-trans activist; chooses to speak in person, provoking students who want to protect trans rights; they exercise their freedom of speech to tell her she isn't wanted; she gets to speak anyway; the BBC dutifully platforms her again; and now she threatens to sue everyone.

Please share this widely. There have been 13 peer-reviewed critiques of the Cass Review, to the extent that academia regards it as pseudoscience, but so far all have been subject to organised censorship by mainstream media. This is the first time one has broken through. Oz Guardian only still.
Worked hard to get this into Guardian Oz & big props to @fiercemum.bsky.social for setting it up & Melissa Davey for publishing it. She will doubtless get loads of hassle from transphobes for it, but it needs to be out there.

My parents' cat Bridget vanished. As the weeks dragged on they became ever more worried, so to distract himself my dad began to paint Bridget's adventures, imagining her travelling through time and popping up at some of art & music's most important moments.

The Times is thrashing around, trying to blame everyone for failing to
Implement the lie it has propagated since April.
It knows that if GLP win, the whole edifice it, and the media, created will come crashing down.
Falkner has already tried the exact same attack and failed.
It’s all they have left.

When those who hate trans people win - or pretend to win, cf Sandie Peggie - it's all over the media, even if it's just a tribunal decision. But when they lose, even in the Court of Appeal, it's absolute bloody tumbleweed. So here's our blog about Allison Bailey latest loss. goodlaw.social/3uyd

Truly cutting edge journalism 🤦

Well, yes, because it will be unlawful.

It gets lost in all of this nonsense every time, but it is worth pointing out that it's not illegal to use any toilet you like. Toilets aren't legally restricted places and never have been, for very obvious reasons. This whole thing is based on an absurd fiction about who can and can't go where.
It's not illegal to use the right toilets and no one should adhere to Mary-Ann Stephenson's headmistressly call to "follow rules" that serve no good purpose, breach the UK's human rights obligations, will be bad for all women, and debase trans dignity. Make her appoint her sodding toilet police.
