I've been saying for ages UK govt needs to wake up to the fact the US has inflicted multiple recessions on Europe and the rest of the world for the past 100+ years.

My view back even in the early 2010s was that mainstream British political thinking had been radicalised, because I always saw Brexit as an extremist position given the inevitable upset it was going to cause and the cans of worms it was going to open. It also had a strong xenophobic strain going… /1

It is in fact wild that the actual experts on migration, i.e. service providers, caseworkers, advisors and migrants themselves, are the only people who Downing St is ignoring on migration. Everyone else has a Legitimate Concern, except those Legitimately Concerned.
