Emily Maitlis & Jon Sopel on The News Agents podcast taking credit for getting the GIDS Tavistock clinic closed down.

Puffed-up journalists with their sense of self-importance think they can’t be radicalised & biased!

History will not be kind to them! 😖

I've been watching Youtubes by violin makers.

You can make one with a CNC machine but it will never reach more than mid level which is okay. The finest violins are always hand made.

You can get patterns and all the measurements etc but there's more involved to make it good let alone world class.

I've had my suspicions of Vlad Vexler for months. He just outed himself as at best an ignorant and misinformed know-it-all or, likely, a transphobe. (Timestamp: 14:00)

He claims the BBC has a lot of young people "too woke for their own good", "conflicting rights", etc.

It's shocking but no surprise Maitlis is bragging about the work she did to harm trans kids, and Sopel is pouring petrol on the fire. This isn't journalism. It's bigotry and stupidity.

Late afternoon I went for a walk to the vape shop downtown. It was a nice walk and they were very nice and helpful and friendly as always.

This is how it is away from politicians, the media, gatekeeping NHS, social media etc.

I've taken time to explain positioning marketing and how it can be used to advance trans rights and how effective it can be and people are incurious.

As for politicos who heard the word "position" and did bandwagon it's about perception not about where a policy is on an arbitrary spectrum.

The past decade has been defined by flagging issues early before they become a big problem only for them to be ignored and turning into an avalanche. It has been a decade defined by cowardice and complacency. The far right dog barks and everyone with power to shut them down loses their minds.

So the Telegraph’s “BBC bias dossier” - supposedly written by ex-BBC adviser Michael Prescott - is being used to claim there’s a rogue LGBT+ unit “censoring” gender-critical voices inside the BBC.

Let’s look at what’s actually in it. Spoiler: it’s nothing but recycled transphobic talking points!

🧵
For reference - Here’s the Telegraph article with the Prescott memo complaining about the BBC published in FULL.

Obviously, it’s an archived link which circumvents their paywall - as there’s no way I’m gonna give that transphobic rag any clicks or coin! 😣

Michael Prescott clearly is not an expert in anything related to trans rights or trans healthcare. His comments are wildly misrepresentative of reality and exclude mention of ingrained BBC transphobia where it occurs. His report would not survive a formal expert evaluation.

I support having a credible defence posture and support the Ukraine effort. What I don't support is politicians going after people on benefits to pay for it because they're easy targets. Tax the wealthy donor class you nobs.

I notice when I post a reply to someone else and mention transphobia sometimes someone comes along and hijacks it in a reply to me for completely unrelated reasons. Not everyone will do this in bad faith but some are a bit iffy.

The "dossier" produced by Michael Prescott sounds like a right wing hit job to force the BBC to be even more right wing.

I note how the cosplay progressive journo's skitter over his almost certainly transphobic material because they were up to their necks in it themselves.

Neither is any loss and particularly to BBC News, where the influence of Robbie Gibb has been catastrophic, destroying its journalistic reputation.
The chances of whomever succeeds them not also being right-wingers and continuing the destruction is minimal.

New on the blog today, I've written about CROOKED CROSS by Sally Carson.

A brilliant, terrifying novel about the rise of Nazism, the falling apart of a country’s codes of decency & the moral fortitude required to oppose persecution. Frighteningly timely. 💙📚

Today is the 60th(!) anniversary of the first public report on the dangers of fossil fuel pollution.

What happened? A whole lot of fossil fuel bullsh*t and corruption in service of a whole lot of nothing.

All while pollution and warming escalated far beyond what scientist predicted in 1965.

When I glanced at the Guardian front page online this early evening it looked like a beige Daily Mail. They can't call out Labour only monetize handwringing flacid impotent rage.
I fucking hate Labour simps. More than Reform followers - they're either evil or deluded. Labour simps though, they'll actively support or minimise horrific politics while pretending they're nice, progressive people.

Fuck off. And keep fucking off until the heat death of the universe.
