Due to a terrible misreading of a hashtag, we prepared something to post tomorrow, then realised it was wrong. So today, let's celebrate #GalenTines Day. Here's what Galen of Pergamon (c129BCE-216BCE) had to say about the gynaecological anatomy which influenced physicians for over a millennium...

Related fact: Mary Wollstonecraft had a very intense, close friendship with a woman called... Fanny Blood.
Reading about people buried in Belfast Cemetery and a woman called Fanny Craig who seems to have been buried in 1887 using her maiden name despite being married and her husband inscribing her headstone with love, because her husband's surname was Hair.

Support your favourite museums, chums. Buy all their merch, visit all their exhibitions and tell all your friends, because when you support good museums, they bless you with the most vital information and critical historical context.

We have been blessed this day.
With #Bridgerton back on our screens, let's revisit a classic thread. Queen Charlotte included a scene of King George III eating pussy. So it falls upon us, dear readers, to answer the crucial question: is it historically accurate? Did King George III eat pussy?

Since the #Olympics are on, let's repost a classic thread here: a brief history of the practice of "sex verification" in sport.

Content warning: This thread will mention anti-intersex discrimination, FGM practices and body shaming.

I do love the Vagina Museum.

Here with all the burning questions we didn't know we needed. Until they pose them!

PS, if you're in a position to help, they're independently funded, so could do with the odd £ thrown their way & we can continue to get delights like this. And they support trans women!

I went to the vagina museum for the first time last December. It was great! I tend to think I'm fairly educated on the female anatomy and then I learned I had always called uterine tubes ovaries.

This place is great and important and it needs cash to exist. Throw in a penny if you can.

If you have a retroverted uterus making your hands into fists and putting them under the bony bits of your pelvis (to the side of your spine and just above where your bum crack is) will tilt your pelvis into a more favourable position. This also works for Vag exams in early labour.

Important news regarding our use of Twitter: Owing to the current circumstances, we have taken the decision to stop using our Twitter account. We cannot in good conscience continue to use a platform which is linked to image-based sexual harassment and violence, and AI-generated CSAM.

important: when we said "get a better boyfriend" in our last thread, we are following in the rich tradition of Ernst "G-spot" Gräfenberg who prescribed a better dick on at least one occasion.
