Pretty clear the biggest threat to world security right now is Donald Trump.

Trump's illegal invasion and occupation of Venezuela must end. We stand in full solidarity with the people of Venezuela. This kind of blatant US imperialism cannot be allowed to stand.

Disappointing that Lab, Lib Dems & Tories didn't support this, but even more shocking that those parties had no alternative suggestions to address the problem. They seem content with drift & delay to our active travel schemes.

It's been an absolute pleasure to have welcomed Ross as the newest member of our group. Principled and committed to improving life for his constituents, he's a great councillor.
I wrote a bit in the Evening News on why I've joined @scottishgreens.org

It's only been 2 weeks, but I've already learned a lot from Green councillors and I'm loving being part of a group that is so focused and hard-working.

Since I was elected in 2022, my constituents have told me they cannot continue to absorb ever-increasing fuel costs, rent rises and food bills.

Very disappointing that this amendment fell today, after it was opposed by Labour, Lib Dem & Conservative councillors.

None of those opposing it had any suggestions for how to speed up the traffic orders process, suggesting they're not interested in delivery of the City Mobility Plan at all.
Update: it appears we may have support from SNP for this proposal, which is ggod news.

What about Lab, Lib Dems & Con? Are they content with 10-year delays to active travel projects, or will they take action to address this?
Unfortunately it seems we won't get support from any other party for our amendment today.

So my question for Labour, SNP, Lib Dems & Tories is: we know TRO process creates a major delay to sustainable transport. What do you propose to address this?

At council leader's questions, I asked Cllr Meagher to explain, if she didn't support our amendment, what alternative action she would take to address delays to the delivery of the council's own City Mobility Plan.

Answer came there none.

Green councillors have an amendment at full council tomorrow which would have the effect of abolishing #edincouncil TRO Sub-committee.

This committee has been a block to progress on #activetravel & sustainable transport for too long, making decisions contrary to policy. It must go.
