Angus here, either showing total ignorance of likely voting intention of residents, or just spreading shameful tactical misinformation

@ballotbox.scot has crunched the numbers and it’s clearly a race between @scottishgreens.org, SNP and Labour - and one we can win

In Edinburgh Central you can vote @scottishgreens.org because you agree with our policies and know that we have a genuine chance of winning the seat (see @ballotbox.scot projection).

We won't try to scare you into it with made up stories about Tory horses*

I wrote a bit in the Evening News on why I've joined @scottishgreens.org

It's only been 2 weeks, but I've already learned a lot from Green councillors and I'm loving being part of a group that is so focused and hard-working.

Locally and nationally, @scottishgreens.org are representing working-class interests and providing a real left-wing alternative - the very things I had hoped to do as a Labour councillor.

I will continue to spend every day trying my very best to serve the people of Sighthill/Gorgie.

Carina Contini was on Radio 4 yesterday unhappy about the minimum wage increase.

Contini claims to 'frequently review hourly rates in line with cost of living increases'.

Did they speak to their workers before going on national radio to complain about a 4.1% wage rise?

The thread about Argyle House; “preposterously large and a potential rival to the Castle rock”
Brutalist buildings are the Marmite of architecture - passionately loved or loathed - and one in Edinburgh was much in the news yesterday when it was announced that plans had been lodged for the demolition and replacement of Argyle House. But while other news sources make much click capital out of it having briefly appeared in some Netflix police show or another, here at Threadinburgh I prefer to get down to the nitty-gritty of the how, why and what of this much critiqued building. And just what it has to do with the Lyceum Theatre, Dalgety Bay and the Water of Leith Walkway...

It's alarming how many people need to hear this: racism is not the natural and inevitable response to the presence of (the wrong number of) racialised Others. It is a learned response, and as such it is contestable and replaceable.

This is anti-racism 101. Entry level stuff.
This is first time I’ve heard the govt making the Labour argument for controlling immigration.

Mahmood argues that controlling our borders is good for race relations, because uncontrolled immigration is feeding far right rhetoric and tensions.

Expect to hear a lot more of that.

I have objected and I am asking the committee to protect this land for housing.

The good news here is that the resurfacing of the Caledonians and Orwells will include significant improvements to pavements. Too often, the council resurfaces roads without doing anything for pedestrians and wheelchair users.
