People ask me why I hate Trump, and there are many reasons; but this right here is at the top. Trump found himself with real power over hearts and minds, and he got there by (and used that power for) telling people that their worst impulses were actually virtuous.
It says "those bigotries you learned as a young person, that hatred & fear in your heart, that unwillingness to recognize the humanity of the other...it's ok, it's natural & normal and there's no need to fight it. Those nasty people at Yale tried to make you hate that part of yourself. Embrace it."

i refuse to believe that americans who watched the debate think that biden’s first 15 minutes are somehow stronger evidence of old age decline than falling asleep, *in public*, DURING YOUR OWN FUCKING CRIMINAL TRIAL, *IN COURT IN FRONT OF THE JUDGE AND JURY*, but, you know, i’m not a columnist.
Trump’s public schedule showed that on most days, he worked (“worked”), like three hours a day. And this isn’t even a “Biden can’t work late at night” issue. It’s a Biden is pulling back on SCHEDULED EVENTS that start after 8pm, which is actually a good idea for most people.

Then, 200+ candidates dropped out to block far-right.

Do federal bureaucracies sometimes make bad decisions and need constant monitoring and reform? Of course. Should car dealers run for school board and have a say in what happens in schools? Of course. But dismantling the entire "administrative state" and making all education strictly local is bad.
