Rob Reiner either made your favorite movie, or made somebody you know’s favorite movie. If you’re a Californian, he’s also part of the reason you or your friends can get married. He has changed more lives for the better than this asshole commenting on him ever did.

When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

Choosing to focus, on hearing the news of Rob Reiner's passing, to remember this moment where he was so overcome with joy and laughter that he - the director of the movie - was one of many people banished from the set in order to finish filming.
TIL nearly all of the "Miracle Max" scene from Princess Bride was improvised by Billy Crystal, and it took three ten hour days to shoot, because they couldn't get through his improv without everyone (cast and crew) laughing so hard it ruined the audio.

Mandy Patinkin bruised a rib holding it in.

The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

It’s the first night of Hanukkah and the world seems like a very dark place. But we can bring light to the darkness. We can fight for each other and make goodness, love, and community shine through.

Rob Reiner, for a while there, was one of the most artistically and commercially successful directors in Hollywood. He had a run of films that knocked the roof off. With STAND BY ME, he gave voice to Stephen King’s work that we hadn’t seen since CARRIE and SALEM’S LOT and rarely since.

Elon's little serfs are quite literally begging journalists to come back because every publicly available source of data shows people have fled the platform and young people won't use it.

They are literally begging regular people to come back. Don't do it! It is a website by and for actual Nazis!

Sophie Kinsella has passed away at 55.

Her Shopaholic books were among the most prominent of what was called "chick lit."

Their popularity changed genre fiction.

How terribly, terribly sad.

TCM disappearing would be one of the biggest travesties to hit film culture. So many of us were exposed to the early decades of the silver screen thanks to its creation, and so much has been retained physically and culturally because of its film preservation efforts.
Good job getting a definitive answer on this. People I spoke with at Netflix insisted they weren't acquiring TCM and people at WBD said they were. It's a wonder I am not a heavier drinker. But I think this will ultimately end in TCM disappearing as a linear channel.
ICYMI from last night: WB Discovery confirmed that TCM will be part of the studios & streaming division that Netflix is trying to buy.

My dad and I randomly started watching this movie together on TV the first time I saw it. Missed the very beginning, but whenever it was on after that, we always had to stop and watch it.

Important to note that the reason RAM is more expensive isn't because OpenAI is ransacking store shelves and buying all the retail stock.

They aren't using those. Instead "AI" companies dumped an insane amount of money on RAM manufacturers to tie up their production lines with parts "AI" needs.

The masked burglar broke into the closed Virginia liquor store early on Saturday and hit the bottom shelf. The bandit was something of a nocturnal menace: bottles were smashed and alcohol pooled on the floor.

The suspect acted like an animal because, in fact, he's a raccoon.

PRO TIP

If you have YouTubers you like and follow and watch their videos a lot

leave innane/positive comments on their videos. The algo is all fucked up for YT creators and a lot of videos get sent to the void for whatever reason.

I hate doing it, but I've been trying to do it.
