I'm just amazed that we are as far from 1975, when I was in high school, as 1975 was from 1925.

Listening to Tim Kaine laughing off Katy Tur's questions about this deal "tearing the party apart." He claims that everyone will realize it was a great deal in a month

He also had some moments in which he was incredibly snide. basically arguing that he's been around a long time and he knows better

THIS is how I find out that ALL'S FAIR was co-created by the guy who's West Wing was "shot almost word for word?"

This is what happens when Kevin Biegel doesn't come over to Bluesky, our cultural history of WGA-related in-jokes dies.

This is a good interview. Harmon is one of my white whale interviews, but I've always wanted to talk with him about his career arc, his decision to essentially take control of NCIS early on when he felt the show was off course. And he sets a tone for the workplace, which is interesting to me

Twin Cities folks. I remember reading about a local group that organizes sessions at local bars where people read their favorite book silently for awhile before chatting a bit?

I know this is snarky. But he looks about as far away from "New Year's Eve party vibe" as is humanly possible.

"Greetings, fellow humanoids! Are you prepared to engage in some festive, non-disruptive holiday hijinks?"
DICK CLARK’S NEW YEAR’S ROCKIN’ EVE WITH RYAN SEACREST is adding a live, Central Time zone countdown from Chicago in conjunction with WLS-TV, to go with its New York and Puerto Rican Atlantic Time zone countdowns.

The show will begin this year at 8 PM ET on December 31st.

What is infuriating is that this Dem move seems to be driven by the desire to preserve the filibuster. People like Shaheen got spooked about Trump's talk about getting rid of the filibuster & were apparently worried he would follow through if the shutdown continued
November 10, 2025 at 3:41 PM
You know you've made a bad decision when even Nate Silver argues that you shouldn't have caved

Trump made a huge blunder on the shutdown. So why did Democrats cave anyway?
It's not entirely Chuck Schumer's fault, but the party needs new leadership.

Today's Morning Joe has been an impressive collection of interviews with explaining that they aren't cowards, they're just being "strategic"
Shaheen: "I think we can get a bipartisan bill out of the Senate that will address this [healthcare] issue. And if not, we know that the voters are going to know who's on their side and who's going to hold them accountable."
November 10, 2025 at 2:20 PM
Honestly, the fact that Dick Clark's Zombie New Year's Eve countdown is adding a live Chicago countdown for the first time in 50 years isn't something I'd brag about. It should be more of an apology.

I instantly thought of @streets.mn when I saw this. It's a look at a plan that would have destroyed large parts of London to create a series of expressways through the city.

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

No matter how they voted last night, every one of them has a say in maintaining Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin as their caucus leaders. Every one of them is accountable here.

I can't wait for the NY Times hot take that Trump's pardon of Giuliani, etc. only happened because Biden pardoned his family

Have R senators? (Like me?) Call Schumer’s office to tell him you will never donate to another D senate campaign again as long as he’s Senate leader. Tell him this deal is a shameful joke and a betrayal.

(202) 224-6542
I just did this and if nothing else it was cathartic. I said I would make it my life’s mission to make sure there’s a primary challenger for any D involved in this deal, it’s fucking embarrassing.
So, listen, call Schumer’s office no matter where you live, no matter if you’re registered to vote. Leave a voicemail that says if Senate Dems cave without an ACA premiums fix, you will never vote for or donate to another Senate Democrat as long as he is Leader

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
