I love when movies play in my head for hours or even days after I see them. PREDATOR: BADLANDS may be my favorite franchise movie this year. It's so much fun. Monsters, androids, glowy swords, spaceships, and laser guns, and they should serve cereal because it's Saturday morning cartoony as hell.

I get why some people didn't like PREDATOR: BADLANDS. I get it. But

"Suffice it to say, the film is a true sequel to The Chronicles of Riddick; I have no higher praise."

"On the spaceship they're getting ready for a fight
See what those Xenomorphs can do
Now there's Yautja flying in from outer space
Marines can't get no relief
Rumble out on the promenade
And Weyland-Yutani's hanging on by the skin of its teeth"

Hey everybody. Let's Schumer* the hell out of this day!

*capitulate to everyone we see, until we get home, knowing that we completely failed the day, our families, and our friends, and go into our bedroom closet and cry ourselves to a troubled sleep, huddled among the dirty clothes in humiliation

If you can’t reply to my posts, it means I don’t want to hear from you bc we very likely do not know each other. It’s not personal! You did nothing wrong! However, if you intentionally circumvent it, that just suggests to me that you cannot handle encountering one single boundary, and I hate you.

Hey Houston! Join me at the River Oaks Theatre for a mystery movie screening. It's an underseen gem from one of the favorite filmmakers of film sickos everywhere. This is a movie that almost never gets screened, and we're showing a new restoration!

There’s a line from the old TICK animated show that perfectly describes my lungs, nose, and throat this past week and change.

“Mucal invader! Is there no end to your oozing?!”

Park Chan-Wook’s films are always richer experiences with second and subsequent viewings. DECISION TO LEAVE is no exception. It’s also much funnier than I remembered (though I’ve often thought his films are funny). I love the shifting perspectives in the cinematography, too. He gets playful with it.

PREDATOR: BADLANDS - Holy crap that ruled. Exploded both the PREDATOR and ALIEN sagas in satisfying ways. I hope Dan Trachtenberg gets to play with this sandbox for as long as he wants. Dek of the Yautja is a goddamn Robert E. Howard hero. So so so freaking good. NEED MORE. NOW.

Seeing some people griping about my settings on my feed.

If you don’t follow me, you don’t get to reply. And if I determine that your quote post is reductive or insulting, I detach, block, and you cease to exist. I don’t engage.

Them’s the Bluesky rules. If it sucks, fuck off. My feed, my rules.

Back in the 70s, a movie like THE STEPFORD WIVES was considered pure satire. At least, for those of us who could have, you know, social relationships.

I never imagined that someone saw that movie and said, “That’s it! Let’s have THAT.”

Reading smart people totally disassembling the New York Times is my new kink.

You know, elocution and rational, decent thought used to mean something. It’s a shame that (as press would have you think) these things are supposedly outliers.
