Not sure why people are suddenly reading this 11 year old article about movie trailers that actually use the infamous “in a world” voiceover line but it’s a fun read.
13 Movie Trailers That Include the Phrase ‘In a World’
Now, one man lists the coming attractions that use this old cliche.

Finishing up my playthrough of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana!

Its definitely the best of the Ys games I have played so far, though I probably would have enjoyed it more had I not made myself play Nightmare mode first in order to attain the True Ending right away. 😂

But overall, I loved it. 👍

I think people have been trained over years to believe that access on social media should default to "open," and that blocking someone is a personal failure rather than laudable self-care; also, lots of people, here and elsewhere, don't know/remember what moderation tools are available to them.
It's quite true that it's up to the individual to decide what to do when someone takes out after them, but at the same time, it just seems so unnecessary to let them chase you away when you have the tools to shut them down completely and proceed with business.

As someone who was opposed to the Iraq War before it began, I remember vividly watching the Mission Accomplished speech, alarmed that it seemed as though Bush was seeing no downside for his defiant, norm-breaking invasion.

But shit changed. Because shit changes, in unpredictable ways.

People who convince themselves there's some "secret ending" to a show with a finale they didn't like are some of the most delusional mother fuckers on the planet.

Think about it for a minute:

How and why would it make any sense to make the ending of any show a secret? Don't be morons.

5 years ago, we had just won two "impossible" senate runoffs in Georgia. I was talking to a reporter about Indivisible's plans for major democracy reform. He had to drop because "something's apparently happening at the Capitol."

Two things then happened that brought us to where we are today:

Agreed.
The American people electing Trump after he staged a coup attempt 5 years ago was a nail in the coffin of our democracy. You can rationalize it all you want - But inflation! But wokeness! - but ultimately it was a societal suicide attempt and probably the dumbest collective voting decision ever made

Marshmallow (2025) is a coming-of-age summer camp horror flick that blends genres in ways I cannot explain without spoillers.

Its structured like a Goosebumps book, complete with the third act twist.

I thought the movie it began as was okay, but the movie it ended as was way better. 👍

What are 4 albums you like to really lock into and listen to, front to back?

So true story, while I was editing today I listened to all four of these in their entirety. 😂 I was in a mood.

Two things are true at once:

1. Yes, it's a candidates job to convince people to vote for them.

2. You, as a human being with a functional brain, should be able to assess any given election and figure out which candidate will do the most good, and the least harm, and act accordingly.

I am more and more convinced that right-wingers are like this because they surround themselves with sociopaths to the point they don't know when they're broken inside because they're the same as the people they are regularly around.

Traumatized people traumatizing their kids.

A Desert (2025) is neo-noir horror that reminds me of No Country For Old Men as much as it does Psycho.

Its slow & medatative, which makes its sudden ultraviolence all the more impactful.

It won't be for everyone, but those for whom it works will find themselves contemplating the film for a while.
