there are so many types of games in like the mid tier commercial game space that would have never been made in the past coming out now. the landscape has been continually transforming artistically in so many ways. it's just can be hard to see because there's a lot of other stuff surrounding it

I wonder why all these great indie games are coming out of Australia where they have a massive public funding effort for videogame creators

I wish we had gotten some warning from Steam and Itch... but we already know it's Collective Shout + payment processors waging culture war against LGBTQ people and sexual expression. I guess there's nothing else for Steam and Itch to say
I would focus on the people holding the gun rather than the head it’s pointed at for no other reason that they’ve come for storefront after storefront and they are not going to stop unless there is real collective pushback.

Not to compete with my own (better) game, but I released a Next Fest demo for a minimalist precision-platformer I made in my off-time!

It's got fewer colours, fewer pixels, and significantly less effort than Key Fairy, but I still love my foolish child!

🌴 Last week Season of the Dev wrapped up - an initiative by Screen Queensland to highlight & upskill gamdevs on the Sunshine Coast. It's been fantastic having a state gov bring concentrated visibility and community building to regional game makers, and also involving those from major cities.

I don't know why they keep letting me get away with stuff like this, but I got to write about Garn47.

A janky little free game that was once a hidden bonus in a Friday Night Funkin' mod. Now a patreon-funded phenomenon with a rabid following picking apart every update for ARG-esque lore tidbits.
Once hidden in a Friday Night Funkin' fangame, surreal free exploration sandbox Garn47 gets a major makeover with the 'Glorgle update'
We've no idea what a Glorgle is but I'm sure someone's going to find out soon.
