This is a fascinating summary of research into protest tactics, media response, and ultimately the influence on public opinion...
I’ve been studying civil rights protests for 20 years. With new mobilization against Trump’s agenda, I’m sharing a thread summarizing my research on how nonviolent & violent actions by 1960s activists and police influenced media, elites, public opinion & voters. 1/ www.cambridge.org/core/journal...

In the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where hospital leaders empowered doctors to intervene before patients’ conditions worsened, it rose just 29%.

There's got to be a new corollary to Poe's Law that says something like "You cannot write a science fiction premise so obviously nightmarish and terrible that some insanely wealthy tech dingbat won't think 'gee, what an awesome idea'"

So weird how throughout history that those who have used the law to commit vile acts on anyone who can get pregnant are the dudes who live to commit vile acts on anyone who can get pregnant.
How perfect. The Speaker of the Arizona House when the no abortions in Arizona territory law passed was a well known pedophile who was chased out of federal office for it, having married, raped, and impregnated 12, 14, and 15 year old girls.

The Arizona Supreme Court has decided the law is still relevant. So let’s talk about the guy who led the body that passed it.

Black families who have passed their land on to heirs through word-of-mouth are often easy prey for predatory developers.

The lack of clear ownership on paper has created headaches and, at worst, opened families up to “land theft”
After inheriting ancestral land, these Black families are defying the odds to keep it
Predatory developers often target Black families whose generational land lacks clear ownership. Now, more families are securing deeds to keep their land and create real wealth.
