Residents of Greenland must be thrilled, dreaming of becoming part of a country where masked police shoot you.

Or it created time to find common ground in Europe? Greenland seems to be the one thing, not even Merz and Macron could accept loosing; and it has moral support in the populations.

Occupying Greenland would landlock Canada. And that’s the real motivator; making the northwest passage a US-Canadian EEZ waterway.
For many European governments, Donald Trump’s threat of punitive tariffs against anyone who tries to stop him taking Greenland was the final straw in their failing relationship with the U.S.
