The social media ban for kids exists in a much bigger landscape of both policy and technical infrastructure: your digital identity.

Here, have some actual facts. As written by me.

Digital ID policy fails you, your kids, and the country
Radically secure digital identity infrastructure is up and running in Europe right now. But not here, in Australia.

‘Peri-apocalypse’
Preparing for the peri-apocalypse
K.I.S.S. with rough numbers.

This solar panel is about $100.

It will make 1000 watt-hours of energy per watt-installed, annually, in the Midwest.

It will provide fuel for about 1,000 miles of travel...

... which is +/- same as $100 of gas.

“/pol/ was created after moot met with jeffrey epstein” is maybe the single most cursed true sentence I have ever had the displeasure of writing

“Epstein plausibly responsible for /pol” is too much for me

Oh Jesus

/pol/ was created *the day* moot met Epstein.

If that sounds unimportant to you, check the thread for why it matters. And I swear to God, is you dismissed pol, 4chan, and gamergate as unimportant online bun fights, your opinion about the rise of fascism is wrong.

Because you’re ignorant.
I have, for years, talked about how I spent the late aughts on 4chan, and I've been watching the worst people from there take over the world.

And.

He's.

He relaunched /pol/ after meeting with Epstein.

It's been fucking /pol/ this entire fucking time fucking fuck.

I honestly thought eugenics (absolutely rife in tech bro culture and *you should know*) would be my least acceptable interest but the failure of historical memory around the Holocaust - directly related - is coming in fast.

6 million Jews, 5 million people who weren’t Jews. 11 million total.

Absolute nonsense Dancing 2 was CLEARLY the year’s best song, I will recognise no other winner apart from Keith, which is already listed, I call shenanigans

Shit yes

I remember the first time someone described MS as ‘long Epstein-Barr’ and I discarded the idea, because it couldn’t possibly be right.

TURNS OUT

Also coeliac disease is genetically predicated but virus induced, lots of things are, onwards to VICTORY

The breakthroughs are on the way!!
Epstein-Barr Virus #EBV was linked to #MultipleSclerosis - now a plausible cause has been found, misidentification by longterm memory T-cells that pick on the wrong protein, ANO2, instead of the EBV-antigen. Massive inflection towards the elimination of MS!!!
🧪🧠Cell www.cell.com/cell/fulltex...
Anoctamin-2-specific T cells link Epstein-Barr virus to multiple sclerosis
Researchers identified anoctamin-2 (ANO2) as a frequent autoimmune target in multiple sclerosis, with T cell responses against ANO2 occurring in over half of patients. These ANO2-specific T cells shar...

I ❤️ this

One time I was stuck in a lift with Mal Meninga. I knew he was running a fruit & veg shop these days so I started chatting about fresh produce.

He asked if I was in the industry.

I said ‘no, I just like fruit.’

Then we stood there not talking for the better part of an hour.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Walked past Salman Rushdie at an art exhibition, mid 90s, when a bunch of people were still trying to kill him.
Please quote this with the time you didn’t interact with someone famous - eg one time I was in Cardiff the same weekend as Willem Dafoe (but I didn’t see him or even know he was there until he appeared on the telly later)
Please quote this with your major interactions with massive celebrities. eg “I was married to the pope for fifteen years”

So I am going to say something about romance as a genre.

A lot of people think that romance is ignorable because <insert thing they think about romance> and romance authors don't count because <insert thing they think about romance>.

This thread is not about whether you have to like romance.

Oh ok so as an massive audiodrama nerd

What if

An audiodrama about one of those Big Cast audiodramas that are invariably awful through the lens of stealing from a tough little indie? (Which they absolutely do do)

I dodged the cervical cancer bullet by a whisker - I skipped some screenings, and they caught the malformed cells at the last moment before they crossed the threshold into cancer.

Keep on top of it millennials, the end is in sight for the youngs but not for us (yet).

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV shows you watched are trying to reduce you.

Who’s coming to save you?

(I am not cool) (it’s Young Sheldon) (yes this is true I’m about to finish series seven) (fun fact I am the exact age of Sheldon and his twin Missy, pictured)

America has deindustrialized so much they can't even manufacture consent
I still can't believe they're trying to make a war happen out of thin air. Not just their abrogation of Congress's role in formally declaring a war -- that's been a slippery slope for decades -- but their total unwillingness even to go through the motions of drumming up public support.
