Not my joke, but tis the season now.

The war on Christmas ends, when Christmas stops illegally occupying half of November and all of October and September.

The small lot, 4-6 storey scale is what’s so missing in all the discussion of planning & housing density, design & diversity.
Fingers crossed that it lifts #architectureofhousing

Please read this & help save the State Library of Victoria, entering its 'now fully trashed' era. I didn't go to uni - for me the Library was higher education in later life, research for my job, a revelation about what ordinary people could have access to. It changed my life. Not just a building.
The State Library of Victoria’s ‘major’ proposed cuts include slashing the number of reference librarians and free computers for public access. Some staff are shocked.
Proposed cuts at State Library of Victoria go against its mission – and will hurt the disadvantaged

Exactly this. Far too many unemployed folks I've helped have been more intelligent and capable than they're given credit for.

A broken system, and circumstance, have been the major factors keeping them there.

A different (socio-economic) background, and their stories would be radically different.

Also (I could rant about this for hours), just knowing you have a safe place to fall should you fail sees you more likely to take more risks.

If it’s not richness in terms of money, it’s richness in terms of networks. Mostly both. When I mentored unemployed peeps (18-25) in Melbourne’s West, they never lacked intelligence, or capability, or education — they lacked privilege. The genuine rags to riches stories are extremely rare.

Wrong!
Just look at this excerpt trying to ‘clarify’ one of most common wall /flashing details
In 1st para it refers to BCA & different clauses of 2 Aust Standards - read it!
