As I said on #WITHpod, the Administration is like a cartoon villain throwing thumbtacks in the road impeding renewable energy. Demand is up from AI, and they are artificially restricting supply and making clean energy functionally illegal to build. It's a crisis. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

An important and underappreciated fact of electricity economics: The US average *wholesale* electricity price is ~5 c/kWh, or ~25% of the average *retail* price of ~19 c/kWh. The other ~75% of the electricity prices we pay is about poles, wires, transformers, generation capacity, and utility profit.

K.I.S.S. with rough numbers.

This solar panel is about $100.

It will make 1000 watt-hours of energy per watt-installed, annually, in the Midwest.

It will provide fuel for about 1,000 miles of travel...

... which is +/- same as $100 of gas.

I see this sentiment a lot, but ... c'mon. Happy to admit Biden was a shitty communicator but have we all not lived long enough, seen enough, to abandon faith in the magic of the "bully pulpit"?

Musk admits no Optimus robots are doing ‘useful work’ at Tesla — after claiming otherwise
Elon Musk admitted on Tesla’s Q4 2025 earnings call today that the company doesn’t have any Optimus robots doing useful work in its factories right now. This is a striking admission, given that Musk has spent the past two years claiming the opposite. more…

ICE activity has not noticeably tapered off yet here and in fact this week they seem to be focused on terrorizing kids at bus stops and schools.
yes, there are no real signs of any big change in DHS activity here yet. In Chicago there really was after Bovino left and they basically ended "Midway Blitz" not so here so far.
I don’t know, declaring victory in MN seems premature. They’re still arresting people and brutalizing the community. The changes appear—so far—to be cosmetic

Public executions will continue until the citizenry is silent.
Q: Between your agency and ICE, we've known seen 2 people shot and killed with 17 days. Do either of you plan to take any accountability?

BOVINO: You're correct. Two suspects have been shot. And suspects that assault or threaten a law enforcement officer's life, it goes back to poor choices.

This is absolutely true. There’s a massive infrastructure here, tens of thousands of quiet heroes. A thousand Alex Prettis patrolling every day, sometimes without incident, all knowing that at any moment something horrible could happen. Countless neighbors feeding their neighbors
The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.
