Ask me for facts about ancient China, I dare you.
While it was originally designed for a very different original use case, the product ‘splash blanket’ may be what you’re looking for. Pretty sure it’s NDIS approved.

Reinforcement is cyclical, would be my reply. If you get used to a certain pattern of behaviour, you expect that pattern of behaviour.

I’m not an expert in Victorian government but I’d be shocked if their promotion practices were different in any meaningful way.

seniority, and this would be true even if I was the best at what I do in the world. To progress my career I’d have to just stop doing design work completely. Same goes for any expert - especially technical ones, who can make absolute bank as contractors.

Literally as in literal. The law says that promotion has to be in acco with the work level standards (WLS) and they are extremely clear: for management, the only skills that count are managerial skills. Like from an MBA. I personally (design expert) cannot be promoted in the APS beyond lower middle

Oh pick me, pick me!!

I’m just finishing a masters by research in ways of improving design capability in the Australian Public Service (so - federal)

In the APS there is a literal law, the APS Act 1999, that says you cannot be promoted based on expertise. Only generalist management skills

Don’t google Mel Gibson…

Jk do it. Tldr there’s a portrait of him in an attic somewhere that isn’t changing even the tiniest bit.

Banned in Indonesia! Great choice!

If you want to make him crazy forever, just pronounce Luffy phonetically.

NO I LITERALLY DON’T BELIEVE IT

BOLLOCKS

(Which in UK English means the equivalent of ‘bullshit’, but more literally means testicles, as can be seen in the standard variant ‘bullock’ or male uncastrated bovine)

(I’m not making this up oh my GOD)

Also you can make the flavoury bit of jollof rice in advance (should be freezable imho) and you just kind of whack it together on the day.

In your shoes, I would consider jollof rice. It's definitely a party dish, but a lot of people have never come across it, so it's got that pizzaz factor while also being pretty easy. It's from West Africa, very delicious and filling.

What you do is you serve those beans cold, but with fresh chopped parsley and perhaps a soupcon of good olive oil on top so it looks fancy. Then you gloat when everyone loves them.

Most greek/lebanese/Mediterranean groceries will have tins of big beans in a sauce. These are delicious, rave reviews abound. We buy these ones: greekshop.com.au/product/pali...

You can also buy tins of dolmades there, everyone loves them and they look fancy.

Your local dollar store has more cute crockery than you think. A tub of Coles dip looks incredibly fancy if you just like, put it in a bowl. That's all it takes, you put it in a bowl.
