During our Rules Committee hearing, I exposed the outrageous lawsuit provision authored by Senate Republicans for what it is — a disgraceful, self-enrichment scheme.

And virtually every House Republican voted for it.

Yesterday, I pleaded not guilty to the charges that Trump’s DOJ has hit me with in federal court.

This administration is targeting me because they can see that I’ve spoken out against them and will continue to stand up to them.

The Republican president is a pedophile who has doubled my healthcare costs and let scores of violent criminals out of jail. But a Democratic mayor-elect wants to make busses free in a city I don't live in. I have never felt more politically homeless.

This is why everyone should consider leaving the Democratic Party. The anger that some of the senators showed because of the cave was false. It was all an act and now they get to go back to doing their wealthy donor’s bidding.
“There’s no real appetite to oust Schumer, though. Nor is there any interest from another Democrat to challenge him, according to interviews with more than a dozen Democratic senators.” @punchbowlnews.bsky.social

Oh Sen Dems are not in disarray - they are in array - in their collective cowardice.

*Former Democratic vice presidential candidate* Tim Kaine defends surrendering to Trump and burning up the good will and energy from the recent elections.
Tim Kaine on backlash he's getting: "I got the first good night's sleep last night that I've gotten since Oct 1, b/c I wasn't worried about being able to look Capitol Police in the eye when I walked in, or what a furloughed fed worker would say to me at church, or what somebody would say about SNAP"

It’s the gaslighting. They are exploiting you but they try to make you feel guilty because they are doing you a favor. Yeah, f*** off.
You work for free so they can make money.
People have woken up to this BS.

Pay the people or do the work yourselves.

Those fuckers don't represent The People, they represent their lobbyists. 40 days of pain just so the Dems can do a song and dance and get NOTHING.

Republicans were overwhelmingly getting blamed for the shutdown.
There was no reason for the Democrats to cave to Trump on healthcare, except for the fact that they are wholly owned and operated by the health insurance lobby.

More lies and failed promises from politicians who could care less about working class people. Senate Dems caved and accomplished nothing. Washington is a broken machine designed for the rich and powerful. It's time we kick it over and break it, starting with Chuck Schumer.

I know this sounds mean but if you think that this is a coincidence you're more than a bit of a mark. If Kaine had been up next year, it would have been Warner, if Slotkin was retiring, Peters, etc.
The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

📌How could ANY Democratic senator who watched what happened Tuesday night, and then surrender to the party they battered just five days later?

Because they are public servants who serve their private interests.

Hi, this is me. 70% of my reliable teaching income next year will be eaten up by my health insurance, which I need because I'm chronically ill.
I hope those 8 dems who voted yes never have a moment's peace.
Kara is a New Jersey resident who is seeing her healthcare costs skyrocket without the help of ACA premium tax credits.

Stories like Kara's are why we need to find a solution that will give families the healthcare relief they need and end this shutdown.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.
