It's tragic that people are so unfamiliar with reading, they think it is "performative" to read a book in public.

The lurching horror of our national immigration narrative is on full display today. Even two years ago, I believe almost all media would have framed the victims of the Afghan leak as allies to whom we have a duty of care. In the Mail today, they are ‘migrants’ being ‘smuggled’ in to the country.
