The real issue isn’t left vs right.

It’s not white vs black.

It’s not citizen vs immigrant.

It’s not gay vs straight.

The real issue is that a lot of powerful people have a vested interest — and a lot of money invested — in dividing us, and it’s working.

Great thread. We can do something about this.
Alright, so I've been afraid to say this out loud, but I think after today, I can say it: In the first Battle of Los Angeles, the good people of LA County have prevailed. We beat ICE back. 1/

This is an actual exchange from a VP who took an oath to defend the constitution and, as a citizen, is expected to abide by the law.

May we one day have accountability for the grotesque lawlessness of this regime.

The President of the United States is threatening to go to war with an American city.

This is not a joke. This is not normal.

Donald Trump isn't a strongman, he's a scared man. Illinois won’t be intimidated by a wannabe dictator.

I would literally pay good money for a reporter to quote this and ask Leavitt on Monday how Vladimir Putin knew the "real" unreported 2020 numbers well enough to tell Trump he won by so much.
Trump: "Vladimir Putin said something- one of the most interesting things. He said 'your election was rigged because you have mail in voting. It's impossible to have mail in voting & have honest elections.' He said that to me because we talked about 2020. He said, 'you won that election by so much'"

I'm Jewish and I think about antisemitism all the time. I can't tell you how fucking weird it is that Homeland Security posting literal neo-Nazi propaganda generates less discussion about the threat to Jews than a mayoral candidate who believes Palestinians are human beings.

From the white supremacist book the official DHS account is referencing: "The point is to reveal organized Jewry as a world power entrenched in every country of the White man’s world, operating freely across every nation’s frontiers, and engaged in a ruthless war for the destruction of them all."

Kenny Lofton didn’t want to talk about Immaculate Grid. He wanted to tell about the Versus Finder. Apparently that’s the thing all the players use at the golf tournaments to get on each other about who hit who and who homered against who. The coolest exchange I’ve ever had with an athlete.

Trump constantly relies on the public's goldfish memory to allow him to crow about great "deals" that, invariably, are worse than earlier deals he tore up out of sheer petty spite because he couldn't claim sole credit.
"New" trade deal just dropped: US businesses get tariff-free access to the Vietnamese market, just as they were offered 8 years ago in the TPP, but Trump refused to sign.

In addition, Trump's imposing a 20% tax on Americans who import goods from Vietnam. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/02/b...

Lots of talk about how the liberal elites have failed. But how about the conservative elites? Thirty years of dining out on the fall of the USSR only to be reduced to debating who's allowed to cast a face-saving "no" vote here and there.
Things like this make it very apparent that folks really do see the GOP as nothing but obstacle course hazards Dems aren't just expected to overcome but demanded to. They still see Dems as the ones *actually* in charge and therefore responsible for all bad b/c the GOP is just an act of god

There's no rift with Trump till they start acting like it. Every "GOP pushback" story needs to be treated as pure kayfabe until they oppose Trump for real.

- Posted an article opposing Trump's immigration policies
- Retweeted twice about the Pope's health
- Retweeted a criticism of Trump & Bukele's laughter at KAG.

This is why I really have no time for the "behind the scenes, Republicans say yadda yadda yadda." This is a public-facing business. If you tell a reporter you don't want to vote "aye" then you vote "aye," who cares?
This is a great point. How many people kept saying there’s no way Patel could get confirmed?

Are we still pondering #SBF?

I don't think this has to be complicated.

First he realized there was a way to feel virtuous about making tons of money.

Then he found an industry where he could make tons of money quickly.

Then it turned out he had no business handling tons of money.

The end.
