Just experienced the most intense tear gassing of my life by federal officers outside the ICE facility in Portland where marchers gathered. There was no fast exit as they indiscriminately threw loads of gas and flash bangs. Children were in the crowd screaming. @oregoncapitalchronicle.com

I just got tear gassed along with thousands of union members, many of whom had their families with them. Federal agents at the ICE facility tear gassed children. We must abolish ICE, DHS, and we must have prosecutions. I expect to see enforcement of our city code prohibiting the use of tear gas.

It's hard to overstate how ell-organized the portland march that got gassed was... organizers made the crowd promise to be peaceful, said the march would slow in front of the ICE building but not stop, that we would stick to one chant (ICE Out). They did absolutely everything right and got gassed.

One of the things they teach you in constitutional observer training is that you can’t physically stop ICE, but with your whistle and your phone, you can become cumbersome.

2 blocks away, got a face full within minutes. Burned our eyes, noses, throats, skin. Many were retching, kids, elders could not breathe. All remained calm and moved quickly, no panic, to get to fresh air blocks away. Helpers washed our eyes. I’ll be 65 in Feb. Never b4 attacked by my own countrymen

This wasn't on federal land
It wasn't when agents were claiming to do any enforcement activity
It was federal agents shooting gas at children and union families in the streets
Im not a lawyer, but I dont see how qualified immunity counts here

People need to understand that this protest was approved by city. The fact that the public still got gassed & flash bangs shows that city does NOT have the public’s back.

A CBP officer was walking down the police line soon after Alex Pretti’s murder with this sinister camera setup, lingering on each onlooker in turn. Everyone there at that point literally were just neighbors, so glad their list will ultimately just be a duplicate of the census

I cannot imagine what company would bother to look and I wouldn’t want to work for one that did.
They think they can repeat red scare McCarthyism but by capturing too many they’ve ensured it’s uselessness. McCarthyism (sadly) worked because it was *selectively* applied giving appearance of meaning.
