I misread this image so badly that I can only really hope to illustrate what I saw.

Journalist challenge: Use “Machine Learning” when you mean machine learning and “LLM” when you mean LLM. Ditch “AI” as a catch-all term, it’s not useful for readers and it helps companies trying to confuse the public by obscuring the roles played by different technologies. 🧪

This is like “Lizza should have to testify before congress” bad
well, I read it, and the salient, non-gross part is Lizza alleging, midsentence and without elaboration, that Nuzzi ran numerous “catch-and-kill operations” on RFK’s behalf, which would give her a role in both his appointment and the untold preventable deaths he has abetted in office. Cool.

First electric cars and buses, now trucks: in the past we were often told that electric trucks would not be feasible.

But the market is picking up speed and electric trucks have become a reality. Expectations are for significant market expansion in the coming years.

One of our many bad contractors completely dropped the ball on a simple assignment so I just wrote it last night with antigravity.

I even have more features and better documentation

Insane but true fact: making US roads as safe as Canadian, Australian, or European roads would save more lives than eliminating murder from the US.

And this is why the model appeals so strongly to ego, if the system has no real rules for choosing or constraining the sovereign, supporters can imagine themselves, their allies, or their ideals sitting close to the centre of power. It’s an aspirational fantasy for those engulfed in self-delusion.

This is what I hate about all AI being flattened into LLMs so that the big labs can claim they will do everything computer by 2030
Accounting has been automated for decades with algorithmic software

That's what TurboTax is

The downsides of LLMs -- hallucinations and poor customer service -- make it useless for accounting when the existing non-AI software automation already solve the problem better

@nextdoorsv.bsky.social Wasnt there some NIMBY post a long time ago about how more housing for programmers would lead to more young girls in prostitution or something ?

Idk, maybe they were on to something
I'm just fascinated by what's going on in the Bay Area

The future is weird.

You can get a 640hp rally crossover for what a nice RAV4 runs. And it still has a warranty

Back in 2019, @ntsbnewsroom.bsky.social did a bike safety report. They analyzed a big sample of US cyclist fatalities, and found that a plurality were hit from behind by a driver away from an intersection. You can’t VC your way out of that.

They recommended separated bike lanes to mitigate risk.

Let me tell you about the other Epstein files the Trump administration is STILL HIDING — records that aren’t affected by the bill Congress passed today.

It could still be that the really bad part of the files is ancillary crimes the FBI noticed while looking into Epstein

What, precisely, is the crisis? When will it be resolved? People have been talking about housing crises since the 80s. I agree that there’s a long-run upward drift in housing costs; I agree some high-cost metros have real issues. But what are we seeing right now that’s a nationwide crisis?
