They’ve stripped the dignity from asking for help Online. You’d never ask Jeeves if you should divorce your husband or to parse your complex inner life. It’s uncouth. You need boundaries between your soul and the ghost in the machine. Only appropriate.

Correction: the new head of US labor statistics recorded a podcast promoting Project 2025 IN FRONT OF AN IMAGE OF A NAZI WARSHIP. Compare the pictures. Who would put the Bismarck on their wall? Can we finally talk about the actual Nazis in our government? (Flagged by @fitch64.bsky.social) 1/

the intensity of my anger at those who would criminalize the homeless — a population literally created by the greed and callousness of the ruling class — is very hard to contain. it was you who dismantled the safety net. if you don’t like the results, put it back

Pointing out how safe DC by showing the low crime rates isn’t going to convince conservatives because “people breaking the actual law” isn’t what they mean by “crime”. To them, “crime” includes merely seeing black people, unhoused people, and anyone else the bigots clutch pearls about as “crime”

A teenage 4channer was beat up by two 15 year olds in DC, which was spotted and quickly stopped by nearby police. He told his friends, the richest man in the world and the Vice President of the United States, that he was pummeled by a dozen adult Romanians. A week later, Trump federalized DC police.

People without homes have the same legal rights as anyone else in this country. They are protected from unlawful search and seizure by the government. Their property cannot be taken without due process. They have the right to travel, the right to choose which jurisdiction to live in.

The federal government does not have legal authority to disappear large groups of people because they cannot afford housing or because they are visibly homeless. They do not have the authority to force people to move out of the state or city they live in.

ICE agents chased a family into their home, tried to kick the door in, and forced them to barricade inside. Then, one agent dangled their house keys in front of their Ring camera.

Incredibly disturbing to watch these agents’ unhinged behavior and the psychological terror they’re inflicting.

We build communities that are unsafe for kids to simply walk to the store and then we charge parents with a crime when a driver kills their kid. But we don't hold any of our leaders accountable for creating environments that are dangerous for anyone not in a car.

The employee asked the girl and her mother if they needed help shopping. That’s it. That’s all. The misinformation, the insinuations (because the facts are inconveniently benign) are EXACTLY what was done to lesbians in the 80s. This is the product of hate and fear, not reality.
