we all love a good chotinering but this one was like watching shaq dunk on kids at the kids hoop. a longtime collaborator of brett ratner who agreed to do the melania movie is obviously dumb and without moral center

Football Manager simulates VAR. Just like in real life there will be a goal and it will initially register as such, and then there is a VAR review that takes a little time, and then the goal stands or is chalked off. My question would be, why on earth would you simulate this in a game

i once bought a new blazer for a schitts creek panel, and when i walked into the green room, catherine o'hara complimented me on it, and also noted that i had forgotten to cut all the threads off the vents.
and then she leaned in and said, "it's because you're going to return it, isn't it"

This is spot on. The "boycott the World Cup" thing has been driving me nuts because it presumes that the actual stakeholders see it the way most people on here seem to—as primarily being about Trump and the United States—when in fact they all see it as being about the World Cup!
It is annoying to me, as the center of the universe obviously, that a large portion of the chattering class has alighted on the World Cup as synecdoche for American diplomatic relations.
As if the sporting event itself was a minor irrelevance.
I can assure you, to the people involved, it is not.

this is the third consecutive time we've done this dance. no country boycotted the qatar or russia world cups. they're not going to boycott this one.
The song is ironic and a jab at Morrissey but also the way Bernard Sumner’s voice raises in pitch on “however I look, it’s clear to see, that, I love you more than you love me” that’s pop music excellence

there's a "minor Dutch celebrities learn to conduct classical music" reality competition show and I think that's a great public service broadcasting idea

Rutte: "What we have in mind is a treaty, covering the whole North Atlantic, that would create an organization to provide for the defense of the members ... "
“Based upon a very productive meeting that I have had with the Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte, we have formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland and, in fact, the entire Arctic Region.”

I've got this German colleague I've known for probably a decade at least and she still pronounces my last name in the German way I've never used. this isn't a complaint I think it's fun

my friend just sent this to me saying this was something he did and also yeah I did this too. would eagerly look forward to the Sunday paper to get the comics as well. what were we doing
why did so many millennials read so many newspaper comics? easily 60 percent of my reading diet in elementary/middle school was collected editions of calvin and hobbes, farside, dilbert, peanuts, doonesbury (!), foxtrot (?!?) and i know im not alone. historically unique phenomenon
rather than talk about Scott Adams I want to talk about something weirder (me). Who else was really into Dilbert when you were 12. Who else was like, boy, I can't wait to work a cubicle job
