It's ALL about power. Money is the way they keep score.

Go out and find something to be happy about because that's OUR power. They always seem to be miserable.

“Negotiating your own insurance” will result in everyone getting the dirt-cheapest junk plan which covers virtually nothing, because most people are terrible at risk assessment.
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.

The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

Something worth keeping in mind: The destruction of the ACA exchanges will be felt disproportionately in Republican states. In 5 of the 8 states w the most people using the exchanges the Republicans are defending Senate seats that could be competitive.

Democrats have to stop bailing out Republicans from facing the consequences of their own policies. And yeah, that means they have to stop sparing voters from experiencing what GOP government truly means.

Every time Dems step in, it only emboldens the GOP & they make it even worse the next time.
So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

And now, if you read the devastating piece about what Venezuelan deportees endured at the El Salvador torture prison, read what incarcerated U.S. citizens endure in Alabama prisons.

State prisons in the U.S. that are massive systems of human rights violations.

One weird trick to lower your blood pressure: leaving a strongly-worded voicemail telling Chuck Schumer not to let them fuck over the ACA.
a good reminder to Never Trust Axios. also, if you're worried, calling or emailing your senators to scream at them not to cave is a good way to channel your rage!
it’s very difficult at this point to figure out if there is actual movement towards a Dem cave or just a Republican whisper campaign to Axios to make it seem like there’s a Dem cave and I’m going to hold my fire on any of it until something actually happens (or not)

This is a politically bizarre issue to lean into. Trump is emphatically making the GOP the pro-children-starving party. Soullessness is their brand.
NEW: Trump is asking Supreme Court to act by 9:30pm tonight to block the ruling that requires SNAP payments to be made.

I don't believe ANY prisoner should lose their voting rights under any civil nor criminal conviction. It's always been a way to disenfranchise black and brown people.
This has not gotten much attention, but it should.

Virginia under Youngkin returned to an insanely harsh system where people convicted of any felony lose their voting rights FOR LIFE.

Dems' win this week mean they'll get to advance a constitutional amendment to end lifetime disenfranchisement.

The Vesias definitely saw what the Blue Jays did, as evidenced by their thanking the Toronto organization for their support. I'm going to start crying again.

Kindness feels revolutionary right now but it matters so much.
honestly have to give llots of credit to the Blue Jays players for honoring Vesia and his family by putting his number on their caps during the World Series. It's a really classy gesture that I'm sure did not go unnoticed.

My god this 🧵:
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

I had a run in with ICE snatching a man out of his car while walking my children to school this morning in NW DC

I asked a neighbor to continue walking my kids to school and I turned back to document and confront the ICE agents.

I am in contact with @dcmigrantmutualaid.org with the full video.

OPTIONS! Every election from now on doesn't apply only to the voters living in an individual state: what happens in Maine, for instance, affects everyone in the USA. Equally, what happens in Texas and in New York and in Nebraska, etc. affects us all...that's the big-tent thinking we Dems must have.
Not an endorsement (and I don't live in Maine anyway), but worth checking him out.

Again, I can't fathom why Dems keep acting like there's only 2 options in a state where a) the filing deadline is months away; b) there's like 6 other candidates running and c) THE STATE HAS RANKED CHOICE VOTING.
My name is Tucker Favreau. I'm a 34 year-old Army Veteran running as a Democratic Candidate for US Senate in Maine. Attached is my rather simple announcement video. Please share if you are looking for more options in Maine to replace Susan Collins! And support Medicare for All! #maine #mepolitics

I was laid off from Teen Vogue this week, alongside multiple other phenomenal team members.

At our Summit, I was asked how it felt to be 1 of 2 Black women left and what that meant for representation. Now, there are no Black women at Teen Vogue and that is incredibly painful to think about.

Remember when we vote for someone to represent us, it's almost impossible to have takesie-backsies. That's one of the most vulnerable parts of a government like ours. And our representatives know it.
