Also, how different is this than Saudi/Emirati sportswashing?

No surprise at all. Worst case scenario is this anti-meritocratic pattern, best case scenario is an arms race of AI tools versus AI tools to try and "fix" a "problem" that never really existed in the first place.
Is AI making job recruitment less meritocratic? We're getting some v interesting research studies on this question now, and the news is... not good. @jburnmurdoch.ft.com & I dive in, in the latest edition of our newsletter The AI Shift www.ft.com/content/e5b7...

The older I get, the more I realize that modern society functions essentially as a giant pyramid scheme of people mutually blackmailing each other into enabling and covering up the worst of human abuses, from genocide to child trafficking.

Another thing this email trove has convinced me of is that NYT has been actively and consciously helping Trump since 2015. It wasn't just casual sexism, double standards, and political reporting Kayfabe. They were doing catch and kill

Like many Americans, woke up today to see how my Senators voted and what they said. @chrismurphyct.bsky.social nailed it. He has been almost perfect this year -- he and my rep (Larson) get A grades from me, and I'll happily vote for and otherwise support them in the future. (Blumenthal fine also)
Bullies gain power when their misconduct succeeds in causing righteous people to yield in the face of wrongdoing. That’s why voting for Trump's continuing resolution - without any protection against his health care cuts or his growing illegality - is a mistake.

I voted NO.

Mayor Pete’s level is making the ALL IN and Fox News morons look insubstantial, which he does well.

He’s never going to come close to his peak as a candidate of winning the Iowa caucuses and being critical to the intraparty Bernie ratfuck.
any Democrat who isn’t cheering Mamdani’s blowout from the roofs right now is a snake and dangerous to any resistance movement against the active fascist era (which they are largely responsible for creating in the first place!)

If the MAGA GOP does this we need to make sure they are out of power for a generation at every level of government.

We had ample opportunity to keep this dogshit from becoming too big to fail, and if there’s contagion due to private credit we now know what to regulate to death for our future.
