People are reading this way wrong. Schumer detached DHS from the other five bills in return for a two week CR on the DHS bill. Now Democrats can make demands on DHS spending without having to shut down agencies covered in the other five bills. They have way more leverage to get real concessions.
People just going out here saying the literal opposite of what happened. Thune caved! Thune did! This is a cave by Thune and Senate Republicans, any possible way you cut it.

Back in 2017, I explained what a disastrous pick Kevin Warsh would be as Fed Chair.

He was perhaps the worst & most wrong Fed Governor we’ve ever had when he was there during the financial crisis, & learned nothing from it either.

Somehow, Warsh returned. www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp...

Trump had urged Hondurans to vote for President Asfura days before MS-13 gang members posing as election observers threatened to kill anyone who didn’t vote for him. Amid weeks of election uncertainty and protests, Trump warned Hondurans of 'hell to pay' if they chose a different outcome.
Wow, someone was allowed to mention the Network State in the New York Times opinion section. I believe this is a first.

The long-term borrowing costs that American businesses, families, and Uncle Sam face...those are based on more than one election cycle

If you're going to cut rates to please the current President, there's some additional inflation or future rate hikes that also get priced in...
What you can expect from Warsh as Fed Chair
-More emphasis on what suits POTUS if it's a Republican
-Sudden concerns about inflation and fiscal deficits the moment it's not an R in the WH.

Don't expect the Fed to be a good-faith broker if govt is divided in the next crisis
Sure sounds like Kevin Warsh is Trump's Fed Chair choice

His views mostly change based on which master he intends to serve, and general partisan convenience.

Thought rates were too low until...November 2024. What a shocker

Q: All those Fed governors who wanted to pause interest rates, do you think they'll have their mind changed when there's a new chairman?
