Engineer and inventor Douglas Engelbart was born #OTD in 1925. His team at SRI developed or contributed to the computer mouse, hypertext, networked computers, and graphical interfaces, all of which were presented in 1968 at what is referred to as the “Mother of All Demos." 🧪

I have some of this glass design from my grandmother's house and I never knew the name! I love it too especially for entertaining.
Let me know, and I’ll use mine in solidarity. This is the cake plate. I found a picture from when I was sorting the Candlewick.

My new parenting hack is just collapsing face down on the ground and saying in a loud robot voice things like:

“Warning! Mom de-activated. Warning! Mom de-activated. To reactivate Mom, do the thing she just asked you to do 34 times.”

This is a HUGE win…and one that happened because we ~collectively~ said “NO!”

But AAAS coming in and saying on record to the NYT “Science is doing ok. Things are not bad at all…” is baffling.

If things are hard for you as a scientist, please share in the comments.
