As someone with about as high a mean awareness of the two teams as anyone, a thing I find interesting is that Cubs fans think they're about to take over the NL Central and that the Brewers' window is slowly closing, when in fact 2025 might well be as close as the Cubs get to the Brewers before 2030.

Some good stuff on Baseball America today (along with their updated T10 prospects)

I'd really prefer other organizations *not* copy the strategy though, so that the pool of players available for this strategy remains as large as possible for the Brewers lol

In an era where it can be harder than ever to discern a manager's value with so many in-game decisions being streamlined, you could see Pat Murphy's fingerprints all over the Brewers this year.

That's why he's a two-time Manager of the Year.

Gonna be interesting to see what Brewers do w/Peralta. Biggest deciding factor is always gonna be the returns. But I’m not sure Brewers have quite been in the same position recently. No real holes on roster. Top 5 farm. Payroll in good shape. Could obviously use him to compete but not irreplaceable

One badly-needed proposal for the next CBA is a bonus pool specific to low-revenue teams who actually win. Winning does not pay enough by itself. Receiving eight-figure, multi-year guarantees that must be mostly spent on payroll in exchange for success is one option.

Make your Senators’ ears ring with it: no end to the shutdown without full ACA funding and SNAP restoration. And then put your money where your neighbor’s mouth is: donate to your local food bank, so if Trump sustains SNAP disruptions, we can have each other’s backs. bsky.app/profile/matr...
Not only that, but many of them have access to discounts when purchasing food that a lot of us don’t. Cash goes further. If you want to feel a more personal connection, though, volunteer! Lots of food banks need extra hands, to distribute food or to sort and shelve incoming donations.
Did not know that food banks don't pay sales tax, so their dollar can stretch more!! Cash donate to your local food bank!!

SNAP benefits are under attack during this government shutdown and food banks are picking up the slack.

But they need your help. Here are the best ways to do that:

100% correct. The Dem ads about Trump weren't just "orange man bad." They were: I'm focused on lowering costs while my GOP opponent is serving Trump, who is raising costs with tariffs, canceling infrastructure, etc.
The bizarre media narrative that Dems must choose between anti-Trump and affordability politics reflects a broad reluctance to accept that Trump is really unpopular. The way forward is a fusion of the two. They are often one and the same. 8/

this is fundamental to why both Democrats and Republicans despise Mamdani - he represents a threat to the status quo, where the rich (not the voters) decide who gets elected.

their willingness to spend billions to prevent people like him winning is the evidence.
"'They’re spending more money than I would even tax them,' [Mamdani] said in an interview with MSNBC last week."

This is the message. Make it clear that these billionaires aren't just worried about losing money. They're worried about losing the ability to exchange their money for power.
