I went to Cambridge because Lancaster closed my degree course in Archaeology with no notice in 1996 & I was told I would be switched to a degree in a subject I had no interest in because I was "admitted to the University and not any particular course". I was lucky that my lecturers helped me move.

Now is the time to pledge your support for banning octopus farming. Octopus farming would be an ethical and environmental disaster, but with enough public support, we can protect octopuses from a lifetime of suffering:

My cat has a vet prescribed special diet due to his o-so-delicate tummy. My cat also likes late night take aways that he brings into my bedroom. Sometimes they escape. JUst woke to a new late night cat related sound effect, turned on light, saw mouse tail vanishing down cat gullet. Cat smacks lips.

Sorry to drop the C-bomb, but are you looking for the perfect Christmas gift for the dinosaur fan who has everything? How about a commission gift certificate? Stock of these is VERY limited, so if you want one, you know what to do! 🙂

Nothing to see here. Just BBC Radio 4 referring to Watson's misogyny and racism as his "idiosyncracies" just now.

Rosalind Franklin died at 37 of ovarian cancer attributed to radiation exposure from the methods she & her assistant used to photograph a cross-section of the DNA double helix.
Meanwhile, Watson won a Nobel off that work & survived to the ripe old age of 97 by simply: stealing those notes!

DNA scientist James Watson has a remarkably long history of sexist, racist public comments
“People say it would be terrible if we made all girls pretty,” he said in 2003. “I think it would be great.”
